PROGRESS REPORT – II

(NOTE: The progress report should reflect the work done by the intern in real time. Any report
having copy-pasted content will be out rightly rejected by the concerned guide and the student
would be allotted zero marks for the Second Phase Project Evaluation)

Give an overview of the nature or domain of the work. The intern should give a peek into his/her
work profile, the department he/she is engaged in and the responsibilities that have been
assigned.

(The content of this section would be the same as in Progress Report I. Kindly ensure that the
“Introduction” Section written in Progress Report - I has been approved by the intern’s
project guide)

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

The interns should, in this section, mention the progress as regards the projects being
undertaken by them at their respective internship organizations.

This section should end with the objectives of the study.

(Note: Each one of the objectives should start with the phrase “To . . .”. The objectives set
should be feasible enough to be fulfilled.)

(The objectives of the study would be the same as described in Progress Report – I; the
objectives should be relevant to the project work being undertaken by the intern and have been
approved by the project guide).
FIELD WORK AREA, DATABASE AND METHODOLOGY

This section (Research Methodology) can be started off by writing a few lines about the study
area (or characteristics of the study area).

Research Methodology

The Research Methodology section should throw light on the below points:

Locale of the Study: Describe the place where the study was conducted

Sampling Design: Describe which sampling technique the intern resorted to, alongside
explaining the reason for the same. For instance, if Multistage Sampling was used, explain in
detail, how selection of units was done at each stage.

Data Collection: (Cover the below points in this section)

 Describe the various aspects on which data was collected. (Identify from the
questionnaire/schedule, the broad aspects/areas on which data was collected.)
 What kind of data (qualitative/quantitative) did the study result in?
 From what sources was the data collected?
 Which data collection tools were deployed to collect the data?
 Did the intern reviewed any geographical or any such literature of the area to become
acquainted with the respondents so as to collect relevant data for the study

Statistical Framework: Describe what all statistical techniques/tools that the intern used to
perform data analysis. Also describe how the results of your study would be presented and what
kind of charts/graphs will be used.

Limitations of the Study: This section should highlight the limitations (or weaknesses) of the
project work undertaken by the student.

SALIENT FINDINGS OF THE PROJECT WORK / STUDY

This section should illustrate the salient findings of the project work undertaken by the student.
The student, in this section, may also figure out any gaps in the previous studies carried out in
related field(s) and describe how his study/project work would fill in the gaps.
RESPONSIBILITIES

In this section the intern should give a detailed account of the responsibilities assigned during
the 4th, 5th and 6th weeks of the internship (i.e. Day 21 – 45). A preview of all the iterative tasks
performed by the intern in a day should form the nucleus of this section.

DAY WISE PROGRESS

This section should emphasize on the day-wise progress / learning of the intern. The intern
should summarize the day wise progress in the second fortnightly period of internship as below:

Day 21-25: Summarize the learning/work done during the period of next five days

Day 26-30: Summarize the learning/work done during the last five days

Day 31-35: Summarize the learning/work done during the last five days

Day 36-45: Summarize the learning/work done during the last 10 days

Details of all the leads generated by the interns during this period, client meetings and other
such stuff would form a part of this section.

CHALLENGES

This section should summarize all the challenges faced by the intern during this course of 15
days (i.e. the second fortnightly period of internship). Any shortcomings that the intern would
like to improve upon during the next fortnight will also come in this section.

ACHIEVMENTS / APPRECIATION RECEIVED (IF ANY)

Herein, the interns can illustrate all the achievements / appreciation received in their respective
internship organizations during this very period.

Any ‘E-mail of Appreciation’ received from the client / external guide can be included in this
section.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The intern should point-wise list his/her learning outcomes as:
