The trail starts in a quaint, cobbled courtyard in Keswick,
called Packhorse Court. Here you’ll find mouse number 1
hiding in the Cheese Deli window. This is where all the
cheeky little mice live. They get up to all sorts of wild and
wonderful things in there! Sometimes however, they like
to get up to mischief and go for a wander.
Now leave the Deli and head half way up the covered
walkway, that leads out of Packhorse Court and onto
Station Street. Listen for the sound of buzzing. You’ll find
mouse number 2 hiding with some friendly bees.
Continue up the walkway, then turn right, following the
bend in the road. Look out for a blue canopy. There’s
definitely something strange about the shape of this fruit!
Can you see mouse number 3?
Carry on up St John’s Street until you see things from a
different point of view. There are beautiful photographs of
mountains in this window, and mouse number 4.
Further up this road is one of Keswick’s treasures. You
can step back in time here, whilst watching modern films.
Mouse number 5 is hiding somewhere here!
Walk back towards Moot Hall on Main Street, then follow
the finger post directions to the lake. Continue down Lake
Road until you find a flower with a twist. Can you find
mouse number 6?
Carry on in the direction of the lake and admire the mural
in the subway. Enter Hope Park. Mouse number 7 might
just be enjoying a bite to eat here!
Walk through Hope Park to the end. You might like to turn
right as you leave the park and go to see Derwentwater
and some spectacular views. Then head back towards
the park, but go past the gate you walked out of before.
Look straight ahead for a large building at the other side
of the car park. In front of you, is the home of our local
super heroes. Mouse number 8 is peeping from high up.
Re-trace your steps through the park and up Lake Road.
Walk down the left hand side of Moot Hall. You might be
able to see a delicious waterfall, but it’s not water that’s
falling! Look carefully in the window for Mouse number 9.
Carry on walking in the same direction. Somebody is in
the Lakes and so are lots of sheep. Can you find mouse
number 10 in the window?
Continue to walk down Main Street. Don’t forget to wave
at the webcam on the side of the town hall. Turn left into
Museum Square, then right when you reach the road.
Watch out for a rather large gorilla – he’s very friendly!
Mouse number 11 will be hiding in the window here.

Walk back through Museum Square, then turn left. Look
for a little window with lots of lovely gifts. Can you find
mouse number 12?
A few doors away, is the largest stack of Kendal Mint
Cake you ever did see. Mouse number 13 will be in this
window. Can you find him?
Continue until you arrive at a mini roundabout. From here,
you should be able to see a place that has many pet
treats. Cross over the road at the crossing, as mouse
number 14 is hiding in this window somewhere.
Head back towards the mini roundabout, then turn left.
Look out for a man riding a bike, that’s coming out of the
wall! Mouse number 15 is waiting here for you.
Carefully cross over the road and the bridge over River
Greta; look out for an old fashioned van. This is the home
of something rather special and very big in Keswick.
Mouse number 16 is hiding here.
Walk back over the bridge and turn left. Turn down the
side of the town hall and keep walking until you find a
shop that has a very sheepish name. Can you find mouse
17 in the window?
Continue on this road, past the laundrette. Turn left after
this building and the name of the street should give you a
clue as to where to find mouse 18.
Head back towards the main road and turn left. Walk up
the hill and turn left before the Keswick Rotary Club Tree
of Light. You will walk over River Greta once more. Keep
walking until you come to a building with lots of interesting
and old artefacts. Mouse number 19 is hiding in this
window somewhere.
Walk back in the direction of the town centre and cross via
the pedestrian crossing. Walk down Station Street looking
out for a place to buy delicious food to cook. Can you find
mouse 20?
Look for the covered walk way facing you, and walk back
into Packhorse Court. At the bottom, walk diagonally right.
There’s a special place where everything is made out of
wood. Hiding somewhere in this window is mouse number
21.
Walk through the courtyard and find a shop with the name
of the town in it. The final mouse, number 22, will be
waiting somewhere here for you.
