Manchester City has won two titles consecutively, and also pipping Liverpool by a single point
last season, but will they make it three in a row this campaign?
Man city won 32 games in the top flight last season and strengthening their squad by breaking
their transfer record of £62.8 million (€70m) on midfielder Rodri from Atletico Madrid during the
summer as a replacement for fernandinho. Pep guardiolas men also became the first English club
to win the domestic treble in 2018-19 by winning the Carabao Cup and FA Cup, making them one
of the most feared sides in world football. The Citizens, after a first year of adaptation under Pep
Guardiola, have collected an amazing 198 points in the last two seasons but the main question is
how they will get on without their former skipper Vincent Kompany, both in terms of leadership
and presence at the back. City fell behind last Christmas and showed resilience to beat Liverpool
to winning the epl trophy by completing a 14-match winning streak. But their hunger for a
Champions League success could be a distraction except if Guardiola would be able rotate his
Liverpool after finishing just a single point behind the Citizens last term will be determined to win
Premier League title this season but there is a concern over whether the Champions League
winners can perform as brilliantly on a consistent basis. Also a lack of transfer activity during the
summer may also be a problem pairing with the fact that key players Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and
Roberto Firmino have all had extended breaks due to international tournaments in the summer,
Dele Alli picking up injuries also while Heung-min Son was unavailable at two different times due
to international commitments, but they still ended at the Champions League final and finishing
top four in the premier league place on the last day of the campaign. Spurs have signed midfielder
Tanguy Ndombele for £55m (€62m) from Lyon and also expecting to sign Paulo Dybala from
Juventus and favorites to sign Philippe Coutinho from barca, this could be a significant
improvement for them in the 2019/20 Premier League campaign. They look short at full-back now
after Kieran Trippier's departure that is now the case. Keeping Christian Eriksen and Toby
Alderweireld is a huge boost for spurs. Pochettino has got the best out of this squad, pressuring
City and Liverpool and reaching the champions league final during the 2018/2019 season.
This is Frank Lampard’s first season in charge at Chelsea, with Eden Hazard leaving the club after
seven years and a transfer ban means the Blues only have one new face in Christian Pulisic. Tammy
Abraham has spent the last three seasons on loan in the Championship, scoring 25 goals on loan
at Aston Villa last season and has being handed the number nine shirt.
Manchester united have improved under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the second half of the 2018/2019
campaign. The Red Devils finished sixth last season, claiming 66 points, and even the big-money
signings of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, James and Harry Maguire they are likely to challenge for the title.
Arsenal, who are aiming to end a 16-year Premier League drought and certainly have the attacking
talent to do it after signing Nicolas Pepe for a club-record £72m (€80m) to link up with Alexandre
Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The 73 goals netted by the Gunners last season were
the most outside of the top two, however their lack of defensive signings still poses a concern aftet
hey kept just eight clean sheets and conceded 51 goals but if the complete the signing of Kieran
Wolves and Everton who finished seventh and eighth respectively last term are also contenders for
the title especially wolves who surprisingly finished eight last season coming out of relegation,
