Statistics as Argumentative Evidence

A specific type of evidence is statistics which include raw numbers, averages, statistical
probabilities, and statistical trends. Statistical proof is the rational demonstration of degree of certainty
for a proposition, hypothesis or theory that is used to convince others subsequent to a statistical test of
the supporting evidence and the types of inferences that can be drawn from the test scores.

Arguments are claims backed by reasons that are supported by evidence and statistics can be part
of those evidences by which proves a specific claim that is valid and justified. Evidence serves as support
for the reasons offered and helps compel audiences to accept claims. Evidence comes in different sorts,
and it tends to vary from one academic field or subject of argument to another.

Statistics are the sets of mathematical equations that we used to analyze the things. It keeps us
informed about, what is happening in the world around us. Statistics are important because today we live
in the information world and much of this information’s are determined mathematically by statistical help.
It can be said that statistics is a form of mathematical analysis that uses quantified models,
representations and synopses for a given set of experimental data or real-life studies. Hence, statistics
studies methodologies to gather, review, analyze and draw conclusions from data.

The involvement of statistical methods is used to increase the understanding of the facts and the
proof demonstrates the validity and logic of inference with explicit reference to a hypothesis, the
experimental data, the facts, the test, and the odds. By inferring, analyzing and understanding the data,
validity of statistics can then be exploited. Validity implies precise and exact results acquired from the
data collected. In technical terms, a measure can lead to a proper and correct conclusion to be drawn
from the sample that are generalizable to the entire population in which statistics can be therefore, used
as argumentative evidence.

Statistics is a term used to summarize a process that an analyst uses to characterize a data set. If
the data set depends on a sample of a larger population, then the analyst can develop interpretations
about the population primarily based on the statistical outcomes from the sample. Statistical analysis
involves the process of gathering and evaluating data and then summarizing the data into a mathematical
form.
In conclusion, statistics as argumentative evidence is valid and justified. Conclusions are drawn
from data gathered by using statistical methods in which data analysis occurs. All data gathered are
precise to justify the argument at hand and give meaning and defend the said argument.
