Knauf Staggered Studs is a non-loadbearing

partition using fast Plasterboards construction
techniques. Mainly specified where floorspace
is at a premium and there is a requirement
for a partition to provide a high level of sound
reduction, coupled with low overall width.

Key Features: This system can utilitise a range of Knauf

Ć Low overall width Plasterboards. For kitchens and bathrooms, a Knauf
Ć High acoustic performance Mouistureshield should be used as the outer layer.
Ć High fire resistance The Plasterboards are fixed onto Knauf C-Studs

insulation 50mm, 40kg/m3
1. Depending on the chosen thickness of cladding in mm the weight per unit Determine weight of the board :

and suspension can be calculated. ( see ceiling load graph ) 12.5kg/m2 x 2 layer = 25 kg/m2

Determine extra load :

2. Add extra load if any (e.g. insulation, ceiling component ) Insulation 50mm x 40 kg/m3 = 2kg/m2
framing = 1.5 kg.m2
total load : 25 + 2 + 1.5 = 28.5 kg/m2 35 kg/m2
3. Find the requirement of suspender & frame spacing
base on table above for 35kg/m2 use :

There are two distinct aspects of sound that must be

controlled in order to produce a comfortable and
appropriate acoustic environment.

• Sound Reduction to control transmission from

one room to another.
• Sound Absorption to control reverberation
within a room or space. The following sections
of this brochure give a brief description of these
aspects.

G r e e n In fo
In order to categorize as environmentally friendly a building is not enough just to have a garden or trees. There are a number of
criteria, including design and material used. For example, appropriate levels of insulation to reduce unwanted heat. Is done by
selecting the appropriate type of material for roofs, walls, doors, windows and floors. However, the design and the material itself
affect only 18% of green building assessment. Behavior of building occupants is even more critical as 40% of its weight. Choosing
environmentally friendly building is a long-term investment. Building a green building is not necessarily costly. Users can use the rest
of the building materials used to hold down costs, while reducing emissions.

Suitable for residential buildings that require a short
time to cool the room, by reducing the heat from
outside to enter the building.

The combination of Knauf Plasterboards and XPS

adding impact resistance performance.

Thermal conductivity performance is not affected by

humid conditions that are common in exterior walls.

Can achieve thermal resistance values are much

higher than if the optimal use of materials / other
insulation systems.

Why you need to use the building thermal insulation?

Thermal insulation is applied to the roof or exterior
wall of the building can resist the heat that comes
from outside the building that will minimize the need
for capacity AC power and air conditioning usage
savings (water conditioning).
