• FIGO has published a new classification for ovarian cancer*

• This classification incorporates cancers of the fallopian tube

and primary peritoneal carcinomas

• These new cancer staging rules will be incorporated into the

8th Edition of the UICC TNM Classification of Malignant
Tumours, which is scheduled for release in the Autumn of
2016, with an effective date of January 1, 2017.

• A comparison of the current TNM for ovary and the new FIGO
classification and proposal for the 8th edition follows
