“Pugwash” Script version 2

INT - NELLY’S BEDROOM

Nelly is sat working on Maya at her computer in the bedroom. Maya has an error and
crashes. The computer screen fills with error codes. Nelly looks on in horror. Error codes
flood the screen. We focus in on one error box with an escape button. Nelly clicks on it
and the screen goes blank.

INT - PARTY
Eyes opening (blinking from inside Ellie’s head) showing the outside. Zoom through to
the outside. Ellie is stood outside the party room. The doors open to a smokey room with
a forest of legs dressed in tweed etc. Ellie pushes through the legs like an explorer. She
goes and sits on a chair which starts growing up towards the sky with her feet not
touching the floor.

EXT - IN THE CLOUDS

Ellie is sat on the chair, high in the clouds above the rest of the world, isolated. She
looks bewildered and very concerned. A cannonball fires across the screen and Ellie
looks that way. Ryan swings in, picks up Ellie and swings out of frame.

EXT - ALL ABOARD

Ryan and Ellie swing into shot and onto the boat (?The crew welcomes her?). The sea
begins to get rougher and rougher as weirder things begin to go past the boat. These
are; champagne cork cannonballs, volovants, leaping prawn cocktail shrimp and finally
hands coming out of the sea holding cigars. These hands create obstacles so the ship
takes off, with the wings coming out of the side of the boat.

EXT - DARK CAVERN

The ship flies into a dark cavern. There is the noise of a toast being made, and the ship
stops momentarily. Ellie and Ryan are entirely silhouetted with just their eyes showing.

ELLIE (​Whispered​)
Can we leave now?

Ryan nods. They leave again.

EXT - FOREST OF COLOURING

The ship flies through a forest made of colouring pencils, buildings made out of colouring
books, and rocks made of pencil sharpeners. Some parts of the forest are missing
colours. Ellie and Ryan notice so they begin to drop coloured paints from the ship, to fill
in the colour and bring happiness to the locals. The recolour the land and move on.
EXT - SOARING SHIP
Ship flies over the countryside made of pipe cleaners, pompoms and other kids craft
materials. The error messages close in ominously and Ellie and Pugwash have to find a
way to defeat them. Ellie picks up a folder with the photoshop sign on it and begins
shaking it, causing photoshop tools to fall out. These are fired at the error messages,
shattering them and defeating all the errors. (The crew cheers?) They fly on victoriously
towards a little country house, and in through a window.

INT - RYAN’S WORKSHOP

The ship flies in through the window and lands on the inside windowsill. Ellie and Ryan
jump out of the boat and jump onto Ryan’s desk. They then climb and explore through
Ryan’s art shelves, walking past ink bottles, paints and brushes. There is a piece of
string hanging down from the shelf and Ellie uses it to drop down onto the sketchbook.
Ellie turns over the page and there is a drawing of Captain Pugwash. Zoom into the
drawing

INT - NELLY’S BEDROOM

Zoom out of the drawing to it being on Nelly’s pin board above her computer. Maya is
completely fine on the computer and Nelly looks relieved. Fade to black.
