MATH & SCIENCE MONTH 2019

27th of September, Rosemont Hills Montessori College celebrated the Math & Science
Month. With a theme of “Math-Sci Is Our Pride, Our Hope and Our Future.” It is the time of
the month wherein students celebrate it by competing in activities that involves using
mathematics and science. These activities help the students for higher education to have a
strong background in math and science that will prepare them in the future

Students in Rosemont Hills Montessori College joined and competed in different


activities like: Mr. Ecowear 2019 for Junior Highschool and Señior Highschool students,
Young scientist/mathematician 2019 for the lower elementary and lastly, Eco Parol and
Exotic Food Preparation for SeñiorHighschool.

A 9th Grade student from Mt. Annapurna, Ralph Laurence Cababan, won the Mr.
Ecowear title. He portrayed Hephaestus: The God of Blacksmith. Wearing the outfit
designed and made by Makeylla Ann Ebardo and Janan Lavador, made out of disposable
spoons and forks, boxes, bottle caps and garters. Ralph said that he never expected that he
would win the pageant but he was very thankful that he joined and he won.

11 Gas students of Mt. Mayon won the Eco Parol making competition. A parol made
out of recycled plastics, c2 bottles, cups, forks and newspapers. They were inspired of the
garbage’s that were already thrown. So they made it to build their eco parol. They said that
it was through teamwork and camaraderie that they made and finished their eco parol in
time for the contest. They never expected that they would win; all they want is for their
section to grow.

A 12th Grade, GAS Mt. Duval student, Carlo Ombrero won the Exotic Food
preparation on September 27, 2019. He won with his dish “Chicken BLI (Breast , Liver and
Intestines).” His ingredients were white onion, chicken breast, chicken liver, chicken
intestines, garlic powder, black pepper, butter and a touch of his secret ingredient. The
uniqueness and rareness of his dish, makes it differ from the others. After winning the
competition, he felt overwhelmed and he stated that he wants to be first one to open up a
store selling such food with unique ingredients.

Margaux Avery Gica Enriquez, a 6 years old, Grade 1 student of Fountain Hills, won
the young scientist/mathematician title last 27th of September. Using vinegar, an empty
bottle and a balloon, she came up with her invention, “Blowing up a Balloon.” She never
expected that she’ll win the said competition for she was not ready. But, she made it
through and won the title.
