Plant Maintenance - Strategy Create

With strategy plan we can plan a number of activities in a sequence for periodic
maintenance
The first step is to create strategy

1 - Strategy Create
Create Strategy: IP11

Click on New Entries

Name = give any name
Description = give the description
Scheduling Indicator = Time
Strategy Unit = D (daily)
Call Horizon = 100%
Click on “Packages”
This will open a new screen

Click again on “New Entries”

Define the operations / activities needed to be performed:
For example
01 30 Day cleaning after 30 day CL 1 CL and so on

Press Save
And Click “Pack Sequence”
A calendar with the schedules list of activities will be list, will show what activity
has been planned in a sequence as per the cycle of activity.

So a general strategy has been created which is not assigned to any particular
plant or equipment and thus it can be used by any plant and equipment. Which
means we don’t need to create this sequence of activities again and again.
The assignment of the strategy takes place in the Eqp Task List, in field of
Maintenance Strategy.
So create a new Eqp Task List is created the Header in the field “Maintenance
Strategy” and we can find the strategy (the general strategy) that was created in
the strategy plan.
Assign the strategy
Click on Operations

Select the work centre per operation, and give the detail of operations, like
cleaning, oiling etc., that have been assigned in the strategy. And give the
duration of each operation, (strategy is just defining the sequence and time of
operations). But here we are assigning how long each operation takes place for
this particular machine.
Now select each operation separately (or all together) and click on Maintenance
Pack

The Maint Pack button will only become visible once the strategy has been
assigned in the eqp task list, if the strategy is not there then it becomes single
cycle and will not have the option of Maint Pack.
And in the Maint pack select the Operation against each line.

And again click on the Maintenance Package

Allocate the package and come back to previous screen as below:

Now in the Component view we can also assign any material that can be used in
the operation. So select the line and press Components.

This will take to a new screen where you can assign the material and qty needed
to perform this operation.
Once finished for all operations, press Save to save the Eqp Task List with the
strategy.
2- Strategy Plan – Create
Create Strategy Plan = IP42
Maintenance Plan =
Maint Plan Cat. = PN Maintenance Notification
Strategy = The strategy created earlier
Press Enter

Fill description for Maintenance Plan

Choose the eqp / fn location for the equipment assigned previously to strategy
Notification Type = M1

The screen will now show the cycles at the top of the screen from the strategy.
Now select and assign the eqp task list

Select the Scheduling Parameters Tab:

Scheduling Period: How many days to run this strategy

Press Save – And select when this will be started. Maintenance Plan # 410 has
been created
Once the plan has been created, this now needs to be scheduled:
So from Menu
Maintenance Plan  Schedule (or IP10)
Click Start = date

And will then give list of activities as per the schedule.

Select the New Start Hold Line, and press on Rel Flag (green flag), this will
change to “New Start, Save to Call.”

And Press Save

Maintenance Plan Scheduled

The plan has been scheduled, a notification will be created by the system and
sent to the person assigned to carry out the tasks.
Once it is scheduled time, the person will carry out the activity and update the
notification via IW22, by adding description of the tasks done like
Cleaning done after 30 days = Completed
And Save.
The activities will become available as per the schedule, they can also be
manually activated in IW22
