Birthday parties bring me so much excitement. I sprint downstairs to see all my
presents, But I can't open them until later when we celebrate. When everyone is grouping up to
sing to me and the candles are being lit-there is a smell of chocolate cake and crazily rich
frosting in the air.
My mom hands me each gift one by one and I shake it-I don’t know what it is, so I shred
off the wrapping paper. I see a shoe box and break into it to find the new Nikes everyone's
been oooo and aaaa’ing about. I glance over them and then move on to the next gift like I don’t
even care about the shoes. When I get a card with my name on it, I never know if I'm going to
get the “Forgot to get a gift, get a card and throw a 20$ in it” or a gift card to one of my favorite
places. After I thank my family for my last gift my birthday feels 365 days away, because it
practically is.

Christmas is my favorite holiday; one reason is because of all the mouthwatering food
me and my family eat when we get together with our cousins. When me and my cousins get
together to show off our presents-I yanked out my new super Mario video game because it just
came out. Everyone else shows me their shiny new prize possessions and I get jealous because
some people got things I wanted.

Dinner is ready! Me and my cousins fight for the first spot in line. I Happily take a deep
breath in smelling the mac’n’cheese, perfect mash potatoes, fresh homemade bread, and fat
juicy steaks. When I finished eating the luscious food, I go back for seconds, but decide not too
because I must save room for the warm, crusty cherry pie.
The first day of school is any child's worst nightmare. Although you will see some friends
from last year, you must start to do homework and take tests-definitely no sleeping in. Beep
Beep, its 6am and I must get ready for my first day of school. I sadly get my first day of school
cloths on, brush my teeth-say goodbye to mom.
I step on-off the bus with my hood up and my ear buds in so I look unfriendly to people
so they don’t talk to me. It's not like I don’t want to my friends, but the first day of school just
brings such anger because that means you have a long school year ahead of you. When I get in
my first class, I quickly get a good seat next to my friend so I'm not stuck in the corner by
random kids all year-that would make the school year so much worse.
