STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

The knowledge acquired in schools and colleges, I believe is not an education, but the
means to it. It is this belief that makes me ‘a student to the end of my days’: the obvious direction
being curiosity towards exploration.

One of the memories of my childhood I deeply cherish is that of my first day in school. I distinctly
remember my eyes watering as my parents bade me good-bye leaving me in an alien environment.
We were made to draw pictures of familiar objects, my teacher recited rhymes in a soothing voice
and by the end of the day I began to love school. I was fortunate to have begun with a good early
education and as I grew, my interests and ability were inclined towards the physical nature of the
universe. Science unraveled many a mystery for me math challenged me and gave me joy.
Learning itself became key to my life.

I always believed that curiosity has been the cornerstone of man’s evolution. I had this curiosity
and thirst for knowledge in me. Right from my childhood, I was interested in Automobiles. I am
addicted to formula 1 racing and a huge fan of Sebastian Vettel. I liked tinkering with objects. I
always enjoyed analyzing and understanding the working of Automobiles, starting from
experimenting on my toys to fixing my bike. I found ‘Mechanical Engineering’, the only way I
can satisfy my quest for knowledge and contribute.

I would like to resent my performance as my credentials for success in the future endeavors. I had
a strong penchant for learning and creativity and this ensured my consistent excellence in
academics as well as extra-curricular activities. I opted the same in my 10+2 and I was placed in
the top 15% of 1,25,000 students who took the Engineering entrance exam with me. This
performance helped me in getting admission into Reva University Bangalore. My undergraduate
major has given me a wide exposure to numerous subjects like Automotive Engineering,
Thermodynamics, Hydraulics and pneumatics, Heat and Mass Transfer, Mechanics, Mechanical
Vibrations etc. My under graduation has been a rewarding experience as I got numerous chances
to visit industries to gain a close look at the application of mechanics and its related theories. I
possess immense quest for knowledge which enabled me to score more than 80% marks in
practical labs of all above-mentioned courses. In addition to this, with the increasing role of
computers in every field of engineering, I underwent career enhancing certifications like
AutoCAD, PRO-E and Hyper mesh which helped me to learn various design aspects. Also working
on projects throughout the academic gave me a sound technical base. But the greatest advantage
of involving myself in these activities was to accomplish skills of teamwork. Moreover, my
participation in Rally car design challenge (RCDC) a National Level competition 2018, in which
our team was ranked 9th improved my competency level, also I was the head of the suspension
department of our team. In addition, I also got an opportunity to enhance my skills in internships
at industries like Kirloskar ferrous industries limited, HRG Alloys and Steels private limited, ACE
Micromatic and Able Industries.

As a Final Year Project (FYP) our team (group of four undergrads), were assigned to find out the
properties of a material named Aluminium-6061 and its behavior when it is reinforced with
graphite by a specific 4% by weight. By this we enhanced the properties of material which can be
one of a solution for increasing the mechanical properties of an automobile frame or chassis. This
in turn helped in grooming my problem-solving skills. During my internship period in Kirloskar
Ferrous industries limited India I came to know work ethics of a multinational firm.
Germany is a symbol of technical excellence and a Global leader in several industrial and technical
sectors. The fact that many of Germany’s institutions of higher education charge little or no tuition
fee by international comparison apprised me of importance Germany holds in education, it is
therefore a promising destination for higher education. More over studying in an international
environment and integrating with English and German speaking people will allow me to learn a
third language and to experience each and every aspects of a multicultural country.
The opportunity to pursue a master’s course in Germany represents the next important challenge
in my life and a momentous milestone. Browsing through the information on website of your
Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt University, I am highly impressed with the accomplished
faculty members, environment, facilities the University has to offer to its students and its various
collaborations with other universities and industries. I also realize that syllabus offered meets the
demands of present-day industry covering automobile development aspects. Also, the university
has many state of the art laboratories and the University is ranked amongst in top 140 in Germany
which indicates its high standard. Given these facts, I believe that there cannot be a better platform
than Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt to obtain advanced knowledge in Automotive field. I
believe studying in your university with high tech facilities, excellent faculty and highly suitable
environment are of utmost necessity to achieve new heights in life. Also, I want to see myself
working in a Multi-National company and contributing in development of that company which
enables my individual growth also.
India is one of the fastest growing and developing nation with an enormous potential in the
Automobile sector-oriented business. Moreover, to re-engineer the existing and ever developing
industrial units and more importantly to introduce new vehicle technologies which will contribute
for the future like electric vehicles are going to occupy utmost significance. Thus, conditions in
my homeland are very conductive to supplement my aspirations when I return after completing
my postgraduate studies.
I am fully aware of the fact that pursuing this course requires a high level of intelligence, dedication
and immense sacrifice. Am confident that I have the capability to contribute positively towards
your esteemed University and with great hope, I eagerly wait for your benevolent act of accepting
