REPORT
THEME: Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the
word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying Not by might, nor by
power but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts
Day 1
We arrived a little bit late behind our scheduled time because of our previous engagement, but
God took us to the Hamilton Beach safely at approximately 5:45pm. Individuals were allowed to
settle down and the registration for attendees was done by our Sisters Rosa Johnson and Arieola
Moiba. A total of 25 attendees were presented on day 1 and other members joined in the next
day making the total number of 30 attendees for the 4 days Convention. The program for the
evening started at 7:15 with our Consultant Sis Edna explaining the housekeeping rules.
It was the end of Day 1 with announcements and Closing prayer by Sis Rosa Johnson.
Day 2
Day 3
It was the sabbath day and individual had their quiet time with God at 5-5:30. The Sabbath started
with Good News Church Club giving the devotion by Sis Lizzy and
Elizabeth. The title of their devotion was taken from Ministry of
Healing chapter 5 “Healing of the Soul”. From the devotion
presented it was interesting to know that Jesus who is our
supreme Medical Missionary used different methods to heal the
souls of people. They mentioned the woman who was caught in
adultery, she did not have a physical aliment but was very sick in
heart and longed for healing. Jesus did not condemn her but
rebuked the Pharisees and scribes who taught that the woman was
an outcast. They mentioned other people that Jesus healed of
their aliments.
Good News Health Club The Divine service started at 11:00am. The sermon was given by Dr.
Don Kelly on the topic ‘The Fall of Man and Suffering”. The sermon
was in a form of teaching which gave us a deep understanding of how man who God has created
in his image had fallen which has caused our suffering. The Divine Service ended at 1:45pm. We
were supposed to have gone to the community for evangelism but because of the heavy
outpouring of rain, we could not make it. That gave us the opportunity to adjust our program
from having a presentation on natural remedies by Dr. Don Kelly to the continuation of “The Fall
of Man and Suffering”.
For our vesper worship Jude Livinus from Light House Beam took us through the story of Uzzah
and how God was not pleased with his kindness of helping the ark. It was the end of the day 3.
Day 4
It was our final day to finish up with our program. Because we could
not finish all the topics for the previous days, we had the
opportunity of listening to the other church clubs for their
presentation of the 8 laws of health. Light House Beam had their
presentation on Rest led by Bro. Sheku Musa. In his presentation he
explained the importance of Rest which the body needs in order to
function physically and mentally. He quoted John14:27 “Peace I
leave with you, My peace I give you unto you not as the world
giveth, give Into you” referring to the
spiritual rest which everybody needs.
Abundant Life Church Club led by Bro.
Greater Love Health Club
Abdul Yateh took us through our 8th
law of health “Trust In Divine Power”
in his presentation he emphasized the importance of trusting God
in all our doings. He quoted from the book of EGW, My Life
Today page 149 that “In order to have perfect health, our hearts
must be filled with love and hope
and joy in the Lord. To get
connection with the Divine power we
Wellington/Calaba need to obey heaven’s laws through
Town Health Club physical, mental and spiritual health.
Wellington/Calaba Town church club
presented on Air. Bro. Henry Sankoh who did the presentation
explained to us the importance of having fresh air, and the impact
of not having our houses well ventilated. Bro John Kanu who
represented the Maranatha Church club gave his presentation on
Nutrition taking us through the importance of eating well and how
it impact our spiritual life.
Our financial report was given by our Treasurer. She stressed on the importance of paying our
monthly dues from the different church club on time as this will enable the MMMSL to function
well.
The constitution and Bylaws that binds us together was distributed by Sis Edna Thomas to the
different church clubs. The draft constitution was read for all to understand and it was
unanimously voted for. The climax of our retreat saw us recommitting ourselves with a
commitment service by Dr. Don Kelly. The commitment form was signed by each member
present.
To God be the glory the retreat was a success. With all our things all packed up we departed in
unison in a bus to our different homes.
