The Secret book by Rhonda Byrne in the last two months has been a
conversation, especially for those interested in personal development or motivation
books. Even the classmate Tung Desem Waringin's motivator discussed it in his
seminar recently in Jakarta last week. Not only that, personal development institutions
such as Kata Hati led by Erbe Sentanu, also discussed it specifically in limited classes
in Jakarta and Surabaya, Trainers Club Indonesia also held workshops to practice The
Secret. In America, the book, which was launched in 2006 after the film The Secret was
aired, was immediately dissected on Oprah Winfrey's Oprah Show. No wonder in
America this book became the New York Times version of the best seller.

The Secret is one of the books "Top Five Best Sellers" at Amazone.com. Inevitably The
Rhonda Byrne's Secret is one of the phenomenal books like Rich Dad's book, Poor
Dad's Robert T. Kiyosaki's work

What exactly is interesting about this 232 page book? None other than Rhonda Byrne's
ability to reveal the secrets of successful people in the past with the law of attraction
(the law of attraction). In addition, Rhonda is also able to package the minds of 24
world-class speakers to explore the law of attraction in a concise and concise manner.
The speakers have backgrounds in various disciplines. From psychologists,
metaphysics, fungshui experts, entrepreneurs, philosophers, visionaries, experts in
quantum physics, to neurologist. Some of the speakers we know enough in Indonesia
include Jack Canfield, author of "Chicken Soup for the Soul" and "The Success
Principles", Bob Proctor, Hale Dwoskin, Michael Bernard Beckwith, John Gray, James
Ray, etc. They alternately discussed the secrets of the success of rich people in the
past and present.
The secret to success is contained in 10 topics. Namely, secret disclosure, secret
simplification, how to use secrets, powerful processes, secret money, secret relations,
health secrets, world secrets, your secrets, and the secret of life. On each subject,
Rhonda and 24 experts took turns discussing the law of attraction in the lives of
successful people. First discussion, confidential disclosures. According to Rhonda, all
successful people in the past know the secret of success. They understand the law of
attraction.

According to Bob Proctor, philosopher, author, and personal guide, we work with an
infinite power. All guide themselves with exactly the same laws. "Everything that comes
into your life is drawn by you into your life. And everything is attracted to you by the
images you maintain in your mind. By what you think (p. 4). Then Rhonda asserted, it
doesn't matter who you are or where you are, the law of attraction shapes the whole life
experience, and the law that when doing this works through your thoughts (p. 5).

In terms of substance, this book is actually not much different from personal
development books or motivations of other writers. The Power of Mind, the ability to see
the positive aspects of each event and the principle of moving our subconscious in the
direction we dream of attracting the conscious mind in the same direction.

What is interesting is that Rhonda's cleverness simplifies the principle of positive

thinking to be easy to understand and not too patronizing

Rhonda Byrne explicitly said that what is called the secret of successful figures as
Rhonda said in depth has been discussed by Napoleon Hill in the book Think and Grow
Rich, published in 1937. Hill's books have been the inspiration for the writers of today's
motivational books.

Rhonda acknowledged that the secret of success as outlined in The Secret was inspired
by a book given by her daughter entitled The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace D.
Wattles published in 1910. While what Napoleon Hill wrote was the result of direct
interviews with 500 millionaire figures in her era. Can be understood, because Napoleon
is a journalist. The characters interviewed included Thomas Alfa Edison, inventor of the
light bulb, telephone inventor Alexander Graham Bell, Henry Ford, President Theodore
Roosevelt, oil king John D. Rockefeller, and Charles M. Schwab.

About the secret revealed by The Secret, Napoleon has mentioned it in the introduction
to the book Think and Grow Rich. The secret formula, he said, satisfies the desires of
those who are ready to get it (p. 5, Think and Grow Rich).

Likewise in the matter of the law of attraction, which is the prominent icon of The Secret,
Napoleon said: Our brain is surrounded by a kind of magnetism that comes from
thoughts that dominate our minds. With a complicated mechanism, "magnets" will also
attract all the strengths, people, and situations that are in harmony with our thoughts of
domination (p. 37 Think and Grow Rich).

This positive thinking about Bryne's work has indeed been discussed by many authors
of personal development. It seems
