CONTEMPORARY ARTS:

Learning objectives;

A. Recall lesson: recall the topic discussed last meeting.


B. Establishing purpose: give a name of regions or provinces here in our country?
Will you tell us what each place is famous?
What materials do you notice dominate each work of art?

C. Presenting instances for lesson: emphasize that the period will be spent in the discussion in
identifying local materials as applied in creating works of art and be familiar with some types of
folk arts in some region.

D. Discussing skills #1: Class will be group into three. Each group will be given a picture of a
particular artwork then they will be given a guide questions about the artwork assigned to them
and discuss it in front of the class.

Guide questions: describe the artwork.


What materials is used by the artist?
What is the colors were used in the artwork?
Do you see beauty in the artwork? Explain your answer.

E. Discussing skills #2: what are the regions or provinces noted for their unique artworks?
What are the available local materials found in their localities they use in
creating their artworks?
F. Developing mastery: Look at the picture of an example of a “TAKA”. With the same group, get
Some newsprint and paste. Create one “TAKA”. Using the newsprint and
Paste. Present your output in the class.
G. Finding practical application: How would the young generation learn to appreciate the kind of
artworks mentioned in this lesson?
H. Generalization: what local and recyclable materials are used in creating artworks?
Do you know of any place where we could find examples of these artworks?
Among the folk’s arts, what are you very familiar with?
What can you say about how it is made of?
I. Evaluation: The reconstructed taka will be assessed using scoring rubric.
J. Assignment: In a group of three, log on to http://www.singaporeartbridge.com and see
Singapore art bridge. Where was the painting done? What where the subjects. How many colors
were used? Who is the artist? Do you appreciate the artwork? Explain your answer.
