What I understood from this book is that sometimes

because there are many bad circumstances, there is
always going on like the protagonist of this book, where
she presents many difficulties which makes her very
sad, but try to survive to the chaos that occurs in their
environment.
For Ana it is very difficult to try to keep calm knowing
that they could be killed at any time, she was afraid,
until she meets Petter one of the refugees who lives
with her.
At first she begins with a beautiful friendship, until later
an unexpected love arises, she finds in petter someone
who understands her listens to her and understands,
later the refuge where they were found by the Nazis,
who separate from her mother and her father, but later
she dies.
