Ethical Responsibilities to Children 1. | will create a safe environment that encourages development of self esteem, self respect, and confidence. 2. — | will keep practices, activities, and motives child centered, focusing on individual’s needs, 3. | will center activities and daily procedures around inclusivity, and provide experiences that would foster understanding and learning. Ethical Responsibilities to Families 4. | will provide opportunities for parents to be involved in their child’s education in and out of class. 5. | will put forth my best effort to create a relationship of understanding, communication, and support with each family. 6.1 will support each family’s rights to have their family values and make decisions for their children, unless it puts the child in direct danger. Ethical Responsibilities to Colleagues 7. | will show respect to my colleagues, and not engage or support any slanderous remarks or acts from other colleagues or students regarding colleagues. 8.1 will exercise open communication and collaboration with colleagues. 9. | will support my colleagues efforts to apply and master best practice to the fullness of my ability. Ethical Responsibilities to Community and Society 10. | will openly support and advocate for agencies, policies, activities, and programs that support best practices, child health and welfare, families, and service. 11. | will adhere to and be familiar with the laws and regulations of the area and school in which | serve. 12. | will inform families and students of practices, agencies, or situations that might harm or put families and children in danger.
