Conceptual Framework:

Needs analysis Student Possibility of having a

(survey) genderless restroom

Researcher conduct a survey to the students if genderless restrooms are needed in the campus.
The participants of this study are composed of 50% male, 34.38% female and 12.5% who self-confessed as
LGBT students of TUPV. Base on the result of the survey, there are only 6.25% of the students who are in favor
of having genderless restroom in the campus.

Theoretical framework:
According to Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, individuals most basic needs must be met before
they become motivated to achieved higher level of needs. It is used to study how humans intrinsically partake
in behavioral motivation. Maslow used terms “physiological”, ”safety”, ”belonging and love”, “social needs“
and “self-actualization” to describe the pattern through with human motivation generally move. This means
that in order for motivation to proceed to the next level, each level must be satisfied within the individual
themselves. Furthermore, this theory is a key foundation in understanding how drive motivation are
correlated when discussing human behavior.
The above theory’s connection to the researcher’s proposition is to promote gender equality
for the LGBTQ++ community. The LGBT students will not only have the benefits for the genderless restroom
but it will also resort to having them lessen the discrimination and for them to feel unwanted and accepted.
