In English, comparative adjectives are used when comparing two people

or things. It is important the rules of are to form comparative adjectives.

For most adjectives with a syllable, the ending "er" is added to form its
comparative for example.

small / smaller

cool / cooler

heap / cheaper

fast / faster

clean / cleaner

in some cases of short adjectives they have exceptions in the adjectives


that end in "e" only the "r" examples are added

nice / nicer

safe / sager

for the adjectives that end in a vowel and a consonant the following is

for short adjectives ending in "y", change the "y" to "i" and add ending
"er"
