1. What is the title of your study?

The Title of my study is “Relationship between the Teachers’ Efficiency in the
Utilization of Multimedia and the Students’ Performance and Classroom Participation: A
Basis for a Training Program”

2. Enumerate your statement of the problems.

The statement of the problem of my study are as follows:
1. What is the demographic profile of the teachers in terms of:

1.1. Age;

1.2. Educational attainment

1.3. Relevant Seminars/trainings attended; and

1.4. Length of teaching experience?

2. To what extent is the teachers’ utilization of multimedia in teaching Science in the

following aspects:

2.1. motivation of students;

2.2. conduct of teaching-learning activities; and

2.3. evaluation of the lesson?

3. To what extent do the teachers manifest efficiency in utilizing multimedia in teaching

Science?

4. What is the level of performance of the students in Science where multimedia tools

and materials were used in teaching?

5. Is there a significant relationship between the following paired variables based on the

teachers’ assessment:
 5.1. Teachers’ Efficiency in, and Extent of Utilization of Multimedia in Teaching

Science;

5.2 Students’ Level of Performance in Science and the Teachers’ Extent of

Utilization of Multimedia in Teaching Science; and,

5.3. Students’ Level of Performance in Science and the Teachers’ Efficiency in

Utilizing Multimedia in Teaching Science.

6. Based on the findings of the study, what training program can be proposed?

3. Why did you choose this study?

As a Elementary teacher, I need to gather further information about how I will improve

further the teaching of different subjects that is under the K-12 curriculum program implemented in our

country.

4. Who are your respondents?

The respondents of this study was the science teachers in the public elementary schools in

Division of Lipa City.

5. How did you choose your respondents?

I chose my respondents purposively, so that I will be able to maneuver the number of

respondents I want to. Wherein, this number will be suited to my capability to administer my

questionnaire. Within the interest and capability of the researcher

6. What is the importance of your study?

I believe that my study will be of great significance to Philippine Educational System,

Division of Lipa City, school of Graduate Studies, school heads, teachers, curriculum planners, parents,

pupils and future researchers of the same study.

Philippine basic education has been undergoing series of changes, modifications and improvement in
the curriculum areas. Changes within the educational system have been constantly implemented by the
Department of Education to adopt the Philippine educational system to the needs and demands of
globalization. These were experienced by the elementary and elementary teachers, especially of public
schools. Some of these changes are manifested in curriculum programs and activities, which include
the use of different approaches and teaching strategies such as the Cooperative Learning strategy, the
Four Pronged Approach, UBD in the elementary level and the change of the time allotment in the
teaching of different subject areas; and lately, the inclusions of the use of both English and the Mother
Tongue as the medium of instruction, which is included in the Double Exposure in Mathematics. This
program was included in the implementation of the Mother Tongue-Based Multilingual Education
(MTB-MLE). And most recently, the implementation of K to 12 initiated in the school year 2012-2013 is
considered the most astounding among the series of changes in the Philippine educational system.

7. What is the difference between an operational and a conceptual definition?

If terms were defined operationally, the terms were defined as how they will be used in

the study. While, if these were defined conceptually, there were authors who defined such terms.

8. Explain the research paradigm of your study.

The input frame houses the following input or independent variables: Demographic profile of the teachers,
the Extent of utilization of multimedia and Students’ level of participation
Teachers’ Efficiency in Utilizing Multimedia in Teaching, and the Performance of the Students in Science
where multimedia tools and materials were used in teaching

The process frame indicates the steps by which the study will be conducted. These steps are as follow:
Gathering of Conceptual and Research Literature Formulation, Validation and Administration of Research
Instrument, Analysis and Interpretation of Data through the Use of Statistical Tools Testing of Research
Hypothesis

The output frame indicates the assumed outcomes or dependent variables of the study which
include the following: Significant/Non-Significant relationship between:
Teachers’ Efficiency in, and Extent of Utilization of Multimedia in Teaching Science the Students’ Level
of Performance in Science and the Teachers’ Extent of Utilization of Multimedia in Teaching Science.

9. Why did you choose the locale of your study?

As a resident of Lipa, I prefer to use as the respondents of my study the teachers in our
Division especially in the District where I belong.
 10. How did you test the validity of your questionnaire?

First is through requesting three authorities to validate the content of my questionnaire.

Second is trial validation, wherein I’ve tried some teachers and principals who were not included in my
respondents to answer my questionnaire.

11. How did you test the reliability of your questionnaire?

The result of the validation has undergone statistical treatment or procedure to assess the
reliability of my questionnaire. Computing the result of the trial validation through pearson and
spearman brown

12. What instruments did you use?

I used a researcher-made questionnaire since I cannot finance the purchase of a

standardized questionnaire.

13. What statistical treatment did you apply?

I applied the following statistical treatment: weighted mean, Pearson product moment
correlation coefficient, Spearman Brown formula, t-test and Regression/ Correlation.
