o 1) buyers and sellers of labour power
o 2) effort bargain – how much effort needed in return for a decent wage
o 3) the notion of the “master/servant relationship” = majority of jobs runs like this
however is your working for the majesty it does not apply or sub-contracted
o Labour market – it is the balanace between buying and selling
If you buy to high the employee – impact on profitability
Unwanted scrunity from managers
If you sell too low then – impact on profitability
Unhappy new person if they find out team members are earning more
The effort bargain is about balance
Employees being underutilised can be demotivated
o The employer employee relationship

o A tight drop market – employees benefit from it
