Province
Description
Antique is a province of the Philippines located in the region of Western Visayas. The province capital is
San Jose de Buenavista, the most populous town in Antique. The province is situated in the western
section of Panay Island and borders Aklan, Capiz and Iloilo to the east, while facing the Sulu Sea to the
west.
ANTIQUE RICE TERRACES TRIP.
A hidden heritage has been “rediscovered” deep in the mountains of Valderrama town, Antique province.
A cluster of rice terraces spread in the different barangays (village) has been preserved by the Iraynon
Bukidnon, an indigenous group, and is deemed a cultural treasure.
Mararison Island
Mararison, also known as Malalison by travelers, is a small island beach destination and a barangay in Culasi in the
Antique Province, on the island of Panay in the Philippines. The beauty of the island was only seen by media after
the devastation of Typhoon Haiyan in the province.

PORBIDA
Municipality of Sibalom is well known for Porbida. This local food is made of native chicken, coconut milk and alupidan
leaves which thrives mostly in the area and it acts a souring agent to the dish, it is similar to adobo but with no vinegar
