SETUP WINDOWS

1. Turn on the pc. See the initial BIOS page.


2. From there, you can check if all your hardware and other devices are working. Press <key> on
.your keyboard to run setup.
3. To install the OS using DVD, locate the boot priority, drag the DVD icon to the left to set the
external DVD as the first to boot up.
4. Or, you can just click the Boot Menu button and select the name of the external DVD or USB
drive. It will automatically restart and it will open the OS installation.
5. When you get to the first part of the Windows setup, choose the language to install, time and
currency format, and keyboard or input method. Click Next when you are done.
6. Press Install Now to begin installation.
7. The setup will ask to enter the Windows product key. Enter the product key and click Next.
8. Read the License terms and accept the license terms by clicking the check box and click Next.
9. Select the upgrade type of installation. Take note that it says “This option is only available when
a supported version of windows is already running on the computer”. You can use this type of
installation even if there is no OS installed.
10. This part is where the Windows is installed. Select the drive where you wish to install Windows
and click Next. Then, let the computer do the installation process and wait.
11. Once the installation is completed will restart and return to the initial BIOS. Set the boot priority
back to the hard disk. Press <key> to enter BIOS setup.
12. Drag the hard disk to the left most to set it as boot priority.
13. Then, select Exit/Advance Mode and click Save Changes & Reset. On the next window click Yes.
14. Next is the personalized setting of your Windows. Choose the color and type the PC name on
the text box. Then, click Next.
15. Select Use Express Settings button.
16. Next is setting up your username and password to be able to sign in to Windows. The options
are to enter a password or just leave it blank, For better security, using a password is advised.
You can also enter password hint.
17. Your Windows installation is complete

SETUP LINUX

1. Download the program CENTOS from their website https://www.centos.org/, or boot Computer
with CENTOS 6.3 OS installation in CD/DVD
2. Select Install or upgrade existing system option.
3. Choose Skip CENTOS 6.3 Media Test so you will be able to move quickly to the next step.
4. When the CENTOS welcome screen appears, click Next button.
5. Select a Language.
6. Select the applicable keyboard.
7. Click the radio button for Basic Storage Devices, if your hard drive is attached locally.
8. When Storage Device Warning appears, click Yes, discard any data button.
9. Type a Hostname to the server and click on Configure Network Setup button. If you want to
configure network while installation.
10. On the Network Setup Connection dialog box, click Wired tab, and click the Add button.
11. The Network Configuration options will appear. Select Connect Automatically, click ipv4 settings
tab, go to Method, and select Manual in drop down list. Click the Add tab to fill the Address,
Netmask, and Gateway boxes
12. Select the Time Zone
13. Give a root password.
14. Select your preferred partitioning depending on your requirement.
15. Verify the filesystem. You can also edit file system.
16. The Format Warnings notification will appear, click Format.
17. Select Write Changes to disk.
18. The Formatting notification appears indicating that the hard drive is formatting.
19. Type Boot loader Password for security purposes.
20. Select the applications you want to install, choose Customize now, and click Next.
21. Select the applications you want to install and click Next.
22. A notification will appear that installation is starting.
23. A notification will appear stating that installation is complete. You may remove CD/DVD and
reboot system
24. The Welcome CENTOS 6.3 Login Screen will appear.
