1. \NSTP-coURSE
What is the legal basis ofthe National Service Training
Program (NSTP)?
‘The NSTP was establshed by vite of RA 9163 othenvise known as
the National Service Training Program Act of 200.
What are the components of the NSTP?
Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC)
> Refers to the program component designed to provide

Who are covered by the NSTP Law?
1, All Incoming freshmen students, male and female, starting SY 2002-
2003, enrolled in any baccalaureate and in at least two (2) year
fechnicalvocational or assocate courses, are required to complete
‘one (1) NSTP component of their choice, as a graduation
requirement, Inthe case ofthe Unversity of Sento Tomas: Al NST
Components are offered to frst year college students
2. All higher and techrical-vocational education institutions must offer at
least one (1) of the NSTP components.
3: State Universities and Colleges (SUCS) shall offer ROTC component and
at least one (1) other NSTP component
4. The Philppine Miltary Academy (PHA), Philppine Merchant. Marine
Academy (PMMA), Philppine National Polce Academy (PNPA) and other
SSUCS of similar nature, in view ofthe special character ofthese institutions,
‘are exempted from the NSTP.
What is the duration and equivalent course unit of each of the NSTP
‘component?
Each of the NSTP components shall be undertaken for an academic period
(of two (2) semesters for 54-80 traning hours per semester. It shal be

LOWTS and LTS are delvered through the mixed mode of online
activites through the eLeAP website (http: //eleapustiedu.ph) and
‘actual flldwork experiences inthe partner communities and institutons of
the Unversity.
B. Course features,
1. There are sx (6) sequential Modules. Students should work on the
Modules in succession
2, All modules wil be made avalable on the website for ONLY a prescribed
peti of time
3, All modules are interactive. Communication between the students and
fecitator wil be made possible omine via Discussion Boards and
Messages options.
4, Examinations are online. In the case of the Preliminary Exam, student
can take it anywhere at their most corwenient time subject to the time
schedule set by the offee.

UST NSTP CWTS | LTS utilizes online learning and requires thei

up schedule wil be given based on the AVAILABILITY of a felGwork
schedule, After which, a letter of agreement between the concerned
student and the NSTP office must be sgned

1, ENROLLMENT
‘The Universty of Santo Tomas-National Service Training Program
offers all the three components for Filpino students In their fist year of
colege.
A student is considered offically enrolled in NSTP it his/her name
appears on the official ist furnished by the Reolsra's Office.
A. Addition of course
‘Adding of NSTP course can only be done (1) week ater the
enrolment ped.
®. Dropping of course
[A student is marked "WP" withdrew with Permission If he/she
follows the procedure for dropping prescribed by the Registrar's Office. The
approval form for dropping a subject should be presented by the student
to the facitator. As the University policy a student may drop the course
before the Preliminary period starts. A student who stops attending the on-
line dass without offcialy cropping shall receive a grade of "FA" or Failure

Pelion classes for NSTP 1 & 2 are only offered to graduating
students letter of intent must be submitted tothe NSTP Moderator.
D. University Athletes
Only the students whose names appear on the ofc ist of varsty
players of the university, Salinagawi Dance Troupe Members and Yellow
Jackets, coming fom the Institute of Physical Education and Athletes
UsrNsTP.OWTS LTS(PEA) are considered excused/exempted from the NSTP Course after
attending ther orientation forthe said couse
Any discrepancy on the Offical Uist from IPEA must be setted by the
concerned student atthe IPEA Office,

Students with dual ctizenship are required to take any of the three
INSTP components.
