Jul 1672 in Killingworth, Oyster Bay, Long Island, New York (per Flushing records
of the Friends). He married (1) HEŸLKEN (HELENA) "HELENA" DE HOOCH, daughter
of William de Hooch and Govertge Emonts on 12 Dec 1628 in The Hague,
Holland. She died between 01 Jan-19 Aug 1658 in Southold, Long Island. He
married (2) ELIZABETH FEAKE, daughter of Robert Feake and Elizabeth Fownes-
Winthrop between 1658-Jan 1659. She was born in 1633 (probably in
Watertown, Massachusetts). She died before 04 Nov 1675 in Killingworth, Long
Island.

2. JOHN2 "FIGHTING JOHN" UNDERHILL (John1) was born in 1597 in England. He died on 21 Jul
1672 in Killingworth, Oyster Bay, Long Island, New York (per Flushing records of the Friends).
He married (1) HEŸLKEN (HELENA) "HELENA" DE HOOCH, daughter of William de Hooch and
Govertge Emonts on 12 Dec 1628 in The Hague, Holland. She died between 01 Jan-19 Aug
1658 in Southold, Long Island. He married (2) ELIZABETH FEAKE, daughter of Robert Feake and
Elizabeth Fownes-Winthrop between 1658-Jan 1659. She was born in 1633 (probably in
Watertown, Massachusetts). She died before 04 Nov 1675 in Killingworth, Long Island.
John "Fighting John" Underhill was employed as a cadet in the guard of His excellency the
Prince of Orange in 1628 in Holland. He lived in The Hague, Holland in Dec 1628. He served in
the military about 1630 (brought to NE by John Winthrop and became one of the first paid
military officers of the colony). He lived in Holland on 26 Feb 1630 (when wife received share of
father's estate). He arrived in Boston, Massachusetts between 26 Feb-07 Sep 1630. He lived in
New England on 07 Sep 1630 (in court records at Court of Assistants meeting at Charlestown).
He was known by the title of Capt before 18 May 1631. Other: 18 May 1631 (made freeman) He
was employed as a Deputy to the General Court in May 1634 in Boston, Massachusetts. He
served in the military between 1636-1637 (Captain for Boston in Pequot War). He was affiliated
with the disfranchished from church religion in 1637. He served in the military in 1637
(discharged from further service... oredered disfranchised, put from the Catain's place and
disarmed). Publication: 26 Apr 1638 in London, England ("Newes from America" by Capt John
Underhill -his activities during the Pequot War) He owned sold house in Boston with 100 acres
of upland at Muddy River to Thomas Makepeace of Dorchester on 01 Aug 1638 in Boston,
Massachusetts. He departed from Boston, Massachusetts in Sep 1638 (for the Neighborhood of
Exeter). He was employed as a governor of Dover and Exeter for about a year between
1639-1640. He was affiliated with the acknowledged sins and errors and was received back into
church religion in 1640 in Boston, Massachusetts. He was employed as a on 5 of 2 mo., 1643,
he was elected Deputy to the General Court of New Haven in 1643 in Stamford, Connecticut.

encampment near Greenwich, killing fully five hundred of them and destroying their homes by
fire, taking very few prisoners, and numbering only fifteen wounded among their own men. As
