Assignment 2: Introduction Academic Journal Article

Note: the number of words required for the assignment is less than the number
of words of most of the examples discussed in class, so the version you submit
will have to be concise. It goes without saying that you can expand it for the
final version of your article.

 Length: 400-500 words

 Make sure the introduction has a proper title, and that your name is on
the file
 Highlight in yellow the sentence(s) that present the research aim
 Add two short footnotes or endnotes in which you discuss some
relevant secondary literature, preferably critically (this is not included in
the word count). Make sure your bibliographical references are correct
and consistent (see guidelines). Depending on your system, either
include the full details in the notes or add a bibliography at the end.
[To make automatic footnotes: 1. Click where you want to add a footnote; 2. Go
to the top of your screen and click on ‘references’ or ‘insert’; 3. click on
footnote, choose footnote or endnote. Alternatively: 2. press Ctrl+Alt+F]
 Please submit a Word document, Times 11 or 12, space 1,5, sufficient
margin. Title your document as follows: first name name assignment 2
 Submit your assignment through Toledo.

You can choose any philosophical topic. It can be a topic you have worked on in
the past, and you can use ideas discussed in earlier work, but please do not
submit a text that has been submitted and graded before. The text should also not
correspond to the actual introduction of your thesis, but some overlap is
permitted.

Before you start working, please consult the examples and my comments on
them (folder week 3). And check the guidelines titled ‘Guidelines Writing de
Boer’ discussed in class.
