AP Setup under WinXP

Tip: Other Windows system can refer install and settings.


01. Firsty Setup wireless adapter driver, please select “Install driver and Mediatek WLAN Utility”,
As pictures showed.

02.After driver setup, right click the client software icon of taskbar on the right bottom

,choose “Switch to AP Mode”.

Then there will pop out a dialogue, Right bottom icon will change to (if there is no

dialogue and the icon did not appear, please restart you computer.).

03. Click “AP Setup” icon, in the new dialogue, Picture 1 is the name of wireless AP and can be
revised or choose “Hide SSID”. Picture 2 is the linked wireless adapter media of local computer.

Then click “next step” button in picture 3.


04. Channel choose default number “1”,click “Next step” button .

05. Entering the password setup interface, there are two ways:

The first way: Default chooses “Open”, do not setup any password. Click “Next step” button

and then finish the setup. (Note: There is no password for AP.)
The Second way: Click “Authentication” dialogue, pop up drop-down list as picture showed;
Choose encryption mode, such as “WPA-PSK” , and the “Encryption” dialogue will changed,

click “Next step” button;


Input password of AP in the dialogue, click “Next step” button to finish AP setup.

Note:
1. The prerequisite AP setup of wireless adapter: Local computer have access to internet, that is
to say the computer have connected with internet wired or wireless.
2. If the system is waiting for obtaining IP for a long time, please restart your computer.
3. If it pops up “Windows Security Alert” during the setup, please choose “Unblock”
