Hackathon:
Fraudulent Merchant detection for Ecommerce Company (Jul-2019)
Project: Fraudulent Merchant detection for Ecommerce Company
Kind of data: Merchant registration details, Customer order details with few
orders resulted in fraudulency.
Data Preprocessing: Matched Merchant country with IP address of his
registered device.
Approach: Random forest model predicted the fraudulent merchant with 89%
accuracy.
Outcome: Better registration norms are suggested for few countries which had
higher fraudulent rate to reduce the impact.
Client was able to predict frauds during merchant registration process itself.
