V. LESSON DEVELOPMENT
BEGINNING TIME: 35

• Students are greeted.
• The meaningful situation of this unit is announced.
• The evidence to be achieved at the end of the unit is presented.
 Some pictures are shown about parts of a house and objects/electrical
appliance on each part of the house as well. Students are asked if their houses
have the same parts, or even more, as well as which objects are there on each
part of the house.
 Teacher takes notes on the board of what students comment.
 Using small boards, by groups students compete and demonstrate who knows
more about objects on each part of the house. Teacher gives instructions about
the competition: students will be given a part of a house and they will have
some seconds to write as much objects as they can, then they will see which
group write more words about objects in specific parts of the house.

DEVELOPMENT TIME: 1 hour 20

 Students complete a picture about parts of the house in the worksheet.


 Students do a puzzle in their worksheets about objects and electrical
appliances in a house.
 Teacher introduces a written text about a house and those objects and
electrical appliances which consume more energy/electricity.
 Students are given a couple of minutes to analyze and think about the general
idea of the text.
 Students comment and give opinions of what they think about the text and
teacher writes their opinions on the board.
 Then, teacher gives the instructions for the correct development of the text.
 Individually, comprehension activities in the text are developed.
 After some minutes, teacher asks for volunteers in order to solve the
questions of the text.
 Students are asked to write about which objects in their homes consumes
more electricity.

CLOSING TIME: 20
minutes
 Teacher makes a review about the grammar (there is/there are) through some
exercises to see if students understood the lesson.
