Violet Bayawa: A love so faithful and true

Love is such funny thing, it gives people numerous or countless other emotions such as sadness
and happiness, though not one person could possibly predict what would happen once you fall in
love. Indeed once a person commits themselves to the person they supposedly love, stranger
things are plausible. One cannot possibly predict the fact that the person they currently with will
be there forever. People must learn to move on after, “Forgive and forget” as the saying goes.
However, that is not the case for Violeta Bayawa.

Violeta Bayawa came from Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte and is one of the grand finalist
contenders for the Philippines afternoon show segment, Tawag ng Tanghalan. She is already in
her 70s when she participated the show, she used to live a happy life in Dipolog with her
busband until her husband left 47 years ago and had no communication with whatsoever. Her
husband,Zacharias Bayawa, left her for another woman from before which left her absolutely
heartbroken and in pain. Violeta was asked by the hosts whether she entered any relationship
with anyone since her husband left, to which she said yes. She engaged in other relationships
from she got left behind, though she stated that it didn’t felt right. Her daughter, Jennifer, is
currently 46 years old and unsurprisingly, never met her father from which their first meeting
was at the show, it ended in tearful event for the small family.

Her life spiraled into a seemingly never-ending loop of pain and despair, she dreamt and hoped
that someday or any day, at most, that her beloved husband in someway might reunite with her.
Violeta clearly had expected to be reunited by her “greatest love” along with their daughter on
the show.
