Moving On

1. Move On From A Bad Past

Forget what happened in the past, and do not dwell on events from long ago. Isaiah
43:18
We can’t go back. We can’t undo the mistakes we made
Recovery/healing takes time
Scars are always better than open wounds
There’s a difference between looking at the past and dwelling in the past
When we live in the past or allow it to trouble us, it can rob us of God’s peace
and joy
Sometimes God closes doors because it’s time to MOVE forward. He knows you won’t
move unless your circumstances force you.
There’s a difference between looking at the past and dwelling in the past
When we live in the past or allow it to trouble us, it can rob us of God’s peace
and joy

You can’t start the next chapter of your life if you keep re-reading the last one
We can see it in two ways: We can either allow our situation in life to make us
angry and bitter and frustrated, or We can rise above it with God’s help, love, and
grace

2. Move On From A Good Past

In the spring, at the time when kings go off to war, David sent Joab out with the
king’s men and the whole Israelite army. They destroyed the Ammonites and besieged
Rabbah. But David remained in Jerusalem. 2 One evening David got up from his bed
and walked around on the roof of the palace. From the roof he saw a woman bathing.
The woman was very beautiful 2 Samuel 11:1-2

…I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ

Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that
I may gain Christ. Philippians 3:8
Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do:
forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead. Philippians
3:13
Christ is the reason you ;
Break up even with the good things in life
It’s not you, it’s God

3. Move On To The Present

This is the day the LORD has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24
The way of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, which shines ever
brighter until the full light of day. Proverbs 4:18

The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they
are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23
‘Weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.’ Your morning
will come. Proverbs 30:5
The present cannot change the past, but it can change your reaction to it
I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that
will be revealed in us. Romans 8:18

Don’t let yesterday use up too much of today

I run straight toward the goal to win the prize that God’s heavenly call offers in
Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:14

Whether it’s moving on from a past relationship, past disappointments/failures, or

past sin, remember God has a plan for you. His plan for you is not in the past it’s
in the future. Allow the love of God to compel you to keep going forward. Trust in
the Lord. Cry out to God for help for whatever is bothering you. Say Lord pls help
me move on. Allow Christ to be your motivation. What’s in the past is in the past.
No turning back, just stepping forward.
*How to move on
1. Acceptance
2. Cry
3. Go To God Constantly

Moving onward is the only way we become stronger…
The righteous keep moving forward, and those with clean hands become stronger and
stronger. Job 17:9
