What is dredger?
A barge or other vessel designed for dredging
harbors or other bodies of water.
Purpose of dredging
1. To deepen or maintain
navigable waterways or channels.
2. To maintain the holding capacity of reservoirs or
lakes.
3. To mine sand, clay or rock from the seabed and using
it to construct new land elsewhere.
4. To create a new harbour, berth or waterway, or to
deepen existing facilities in order to allow larger ships
access.
