Evidence: The time is now

This evidence is divided into two parts: A composition and an audio file. Read the
instructions below and make sure you complete both tasks.

A. Answer the questions below. Use the examples as models of the grammar and
vocabulary you have to use.

1. Why didn’t you study English before? (List at least 5 reasons in a

composition.)

Example:

One of the reasons why I didn’t study English before it is because I thought it
was too difficult. I didn’t understand my English teacher at school and that
was frustrating.
 1. I did not get attention, it seemed a little difficult and much more pronunciation.

2. In my school English was not so good, therefore it seemed difficult to learn.

3. He did not have the financial means to pay for a good institute.

4. I didn't see it necessary for my future, but now I see that it is very important in our
lives.

5. For my career I have no time to study in an English institute.

2. How different would things be if you had learned English before? (Name and
explain at least 5 things.)

Example:

If I had learned English some years ago I would have accepted a job a
multinational company offered me five years ago. One of the requirements
was to speak English and my level back then was very low.

1. If I had had good English in my school, I would have drawn more attention to
continue learning it.

2. If I had learned English I would have a better position in my work.

3. If I had learned English it would make it easier for me to speak with foreigners.

4. If I had studied English I would understand English movies much more and read
books.

5. If I had studied English I would travel abroad without fear of not understanding.

B. Record an audio file of yourself answering the following questions. Use the
examples as models of the grammar and vocabulary you have to use.

1. Why are you studying English? (List and explain at least 4 reasons.)
 1. Because I want to learn how little he studied me draws attention.
2. Having this language is very good for my professional life and at
work.
3. It is a requirement to graduate in my career.
4. I want to have conversations in English without fear of not
understanding.

Example:

I’m studying English because I finally decided that if I want to improve my

professional profile becoming bilingual is essential.

3. In what ways are you going to benefit from this learning?

It will benefit a lot in both my personal and professional life, I know

that mastering the English language will open many doors for me and
will serve me a lot to make my specialization.

Example:

Being competent in English is going to increase the opportunities of landing a more

satisfying and better-paid job. We live in an international open market and English
is the most important language.
