Week 1 (1/7/2019 – 5/7/2019)

I. Timeline
DAY 1:

- Meet Mr.Thai and he handle me to Mr.Pham Huu Loc, division of infracstructure.

- Read documents about upgrading and expanding dao tri street.
- Know thoroughly the protocol of designing a road.
- Firstly, name all standards is used in designing.
- Give the design principles of each part.
- SPOTLIGHT: 4 METHODS OF SOFT SOIL TREATMENTS include pros and cons, the cost estimation
to choose the best method to be proceed.

+ CDM
- Legislation: documents about permission to upgrade the road.
- For components of the road like lights, trees, we have to give out drawings and suitable
arrangement based on standard.
- Each drawing must go through the censorship and have the red stamp of government on it.
- Meet Ms.Thơ and Mr.Hung show me how to binding the documents.

Day 2:
- Continued to re-read the documents.
- Mr.Loc ordered us (the interns) to go to another company to stamp the documents.
- Check-in time is 8:00 AM, lunch break is at 11:30 AM, afternoon shift begins at 1:00 PM, check-
out time is 5:00 PM.
- The company check-in by fingerprints.

Day 3:
- Hand back the design documents, and note with errors by sticky paper (mainly spelling error and
using wrong words)
- Continue to go to the censorship company to stamp the censorship stamps.
- Read carefully the first step of a bridge design project.

II. Conclusion:
1. Target achieved:
- Knowing the process of designing and constructing a road.
- Learn 4 different methods of soft soil treatment.
- Learn the protocol of censoring documents, stages of approving a good design.
- Learn the regulation of the company and some tips of working at Tedi South.
2. Target ahead
- Ask for doing in technical drawings.
- Read documents about bridge design project.
- Ask about projects being run at the moment and ask for the field investigation.
- Learn more about the protocol, aim in legislation.
