To Whom It May Concern;

Jessica Hemstreet was in my Grade Two class at Coventry Hills School for the
duration of her first practicum (EDUC 2500) through the University
of Lethbridge. During this time she became a valued member of our learning
community and she established a positive rapport with staff and students.

Jessica demonstrated flexibility in planning by working on her own as well as
working collaboratively with the classroom teacher and her fellow student
teacher. She thoughtfully planned a variety of lessons, which included several
instructional methods including: small group work, individual and large group
activities. The lessons were interesting and had a multiple curricular connections.
She was resourceful in finding materials, which related directly to the
curriculum. Jessica wrote her lessons up with attention given to the desired
outcomes as well as the learning needs and interests of the students. She made
decisions about how to proceed with the lesson based on student response. With
support, she began to be reflective and insightful about how to improve and
enhance possible follow-up lessons.

As the practicum progressed and with some encouragement, Jessica began to
demonstrate appropriate and varied classroom management skills.

Jessica consistently asked inquisitive questions, which demonstrated a willingness
to learn, and dedication to the teaching profession.

I wish Jessica all the best in her teaching journey and I would not hesitate to
recommend Jessica, both professionally and personally for a teaching
position. She brings tremendous strengths to her career choice!

Sincerely,

Lisa Sloane
