Statement of Purpose

Standing at the present juncture of my life, when I look back at the previous academic tenure, I have a
strong feeling that I have been racing against time. I would say that I have always shared an intense
passion for computer science, and my quest for knowledge in this particular bandwagon has been
deepened by an intense level of passion and fascination which I used to share anything that was closely
or remotely connected with the realm of computers. I can still recollect the memories of the cozy
afternoons; I spent playing myriads of computer games with the dedication of a staunch devotee. I
believe those cozy moments do have a persuasive role to play in implanting a deep seated love for
crucial components of computer science, namely coding and programming language. Since childhood, I
had fallen so much in love with computers that I felt I could spend hours in front of it without feeling
fatigued or disgusted. Being a student in this discipline has been a total fun experience which helped me
to look at the very spectrum of my life with a value added perspective.

I would like to present my past performance as my credentials for my success in my future endeavors.
My innate strength has been my quantitative and analytical abilities which instilled me a special interest
for mathematical and physics. I had opted the same in my 10+Diploma with good marks. I was placed in
the top 15% of one lakh who took engineering entrance examination. This performance helped me in
getting admission into RVR & JC College of Engineering, Guntur, India.

During the course of my undergraduate study I was exposed to various courses with applications like
Electromagnetic field, Data Structures, network analysis, Control systems, Oops & Os, Power electronic,
Electrical measurements, Linear Integrated Circuits, Electronics, Pulse and digital circuits, Computer
methods in power system control, Digital Signal Processing, Power systems(1to 3), Electro mechanics(1
to 3) Micro processors & Micro Controllers, High voltage engineering, Modeling of power system
components, Utilization of electrical energy enhanced my subject. I secured good results in my
engineering. I was well versed in programming language python. During my final year I decided to do
project in Simulation model for three phase power system network matrix lab based.

A random quote I read on some social Networking site: - “Sometimes when my Internet is down, I forget
the rest of my computer still works.” Some people might dismiss this statement as a joke but if we think
carefully, the statement is true. It is almost unthinkable to have standalone PC’s today with no
connectivity to other devices or the Internet and this massive and fascinating field is only growing and
evolving every day. Cyber threats are becoming more lethal & sophisticated and endangering every
aspect of life from the privacy of home to financial institutions, healthcare industry, Power & other
utilities etc. With the boom in Internet of Things the number of devices connected to the internet are
projected to reach 50 Billion by 2020 thereby leading to more attack vectors. It is in this field of
Computer Networks that I wish to pursue my postgraduate studies.
For my Masters degree in Networking, U.K is the most suited location. Being one of the most progressive
nations of the world, it is laden with best opportunities and the best companies. The course structure
and research at your university seems to most parallel my interests. I believe that the highly qualified
faculty, research facilities of your University would be of enormous help in my quest for research. I am
aware of the determination and perseverance needed for a successful career. I am confident that with
my strong grasp of fundamentals in various courses of computers and a zest for challenges, I will be able
to make important contributions to the academic society.

Furthermore, it will enable me to understand diversity in terms of languages, cultures, perspectives and
experiences, which will go a long way in shaping my personality and give me an insight into
understanding the different behavioral patterns of people.

I am clear as to my carrier aspiration. Educational I believe is a life long process. I am fully aware that
yours curriculum requires that I summon all my resources and I aver that I have the necessary
commitment, intelligence and stamina to look forward to do it all. I am convinced that my study at your
department would be meaningful and rewarding experience. I look forward to have a long and
profitable association with your university. I especially thank you for giving me the opportunity given
