Hello Parents/Caregivers!

My name is Charissa Kashian, and I am your child’s General

Chemistry teacher. This is my first year teaching, and I am so excited to
share this time with your child. I would like to take this time to tell you a little
about myself. I graduated from Grand Valley State University in April 2020.
At Grand Valley, I double majored in Chemistry and Secondary Education,
and I minored in Biology. I did my teacher assisting in Grand Rapids
University Preparatory Academy and my student teaching in Forest Hills
Northern High School and in the International School of Trieste in Italy. I
am now certified to teach both chemistry and biology!

Before going to Grand Valley, I grew up in a small town in the Upper

Peninsula of Michigan. I found a love of chemistry after taking AP
Chemistry in high school, and I found a love of teaching shortly after going
to Grand Valley. When I’m not teaching, I love to swing dance, horseback
ride, and paint with watercolors.
