DeltaV Connect™ Solution for Moore® Systems Installation Manual

1. Introduction
This manual details the procedures for installation of DeltaV Connect™ Solution for Moore®
Systems software. It explains installation options, general assumptions regarding software and
licenses required, setting up redundancy, interface upgrades and tips on APACS OPC software
and hardware installation. It is intended for use by someone who is familiar with APACS.

2. DeltaV Connect™ Solution for Moore® Systems Interface

Options
Before installing DeltaV Connect™ Solution for Moore® Systems, first install DeltaV software.
NOTE: DeltaV Connect™ Solution for Moore® Systems requires the APACS OPC Device Server
to be installed on the interface station (Application Station typically, or ProfessionalPlus for small
systems). Install APACS software and hardware after completing the DeltaV installation. See
Section 9 for more information about APACS installation.
The DeltaV Connect™ Solution for Moore® Systems installation procedure utilizes the industry
standard Installshield Setup program. The interface can be installed in three ways:
2.1. Typical Simplex Interface
An Application Station hosts DeltaV Connect™ Solution for Moore® Systems modules on its
Virtual Controller, while the ProfessionalPlus hosts engineering configuration of the interface.
This installation is recommended for systems larger than 8000 APACS parameters or more
than 500 DeltaV modules. Sections 4.1 & 4.2 detail the procedures for installing this type of
system interface, which includes components for both the ProfessionalPlus and the
Application Station.
The Application Station can be connected directly to the APACS Modulbus with an APACS
Modulbus and Modulnet Interface (MBI/MNI) card, or indirectly through a 3rd Ethernet card to
an IEM (Industrial Ethernet Module). If installing the MBI/MNI card, consult the Remove NIC
from WS370.doc document on this CDROM for details on how to properly remove the
Secondary Expansion Ethernet card, to make a PCI slot available for the MBI/MNI card.
Consult the Siemens installation instructions for details on installing the APACS OPC Device
Server software on the Application Station (and MBI/MNI card hardware, if directly connected
to APACS.) See also Section 9, APACS Software Setup.

2.2. Typical Redundant Interface

Installation requirements for the typical redundant interface are the same as for Typical
Simplex Interface, (detailed in Sections 4.1 & 4.2) except for the added steps of
“Redundancy Setup”, detailed in Section 5. An Application Station has the Redundant
Assigned Modules subsystem enabled. Two Application Station computers act as Preferred
Active and Preferred Standby to host the DeltaV Connect™ Solution for Moore® Systems
modules on their redundant Virtual Controllers. The ProfessionalPlus hosts engineering
configuration of the interface.
Consult the Siemens installation instructions for details on installing the APACS OPC Device
Server software on both the Preferred Active and Preferred Standby Application Station (and
MBI card hardware, if directly connected to APACS.) See also Section 9, APACS Software
Setup.
Note: APACS OPC Device Server installs Microsoft MSDE, which strongly associates
itself with the computer’s Node Name. Do not rename the Node Name after MSDE is
installed. The Preferred Standby Application Station’s Node Name will usually change
upon running DeltaV Workstation Configuration. Install APACS OPC Device Server after
DeltaV Workstation Configuration has been run and the Node Name will remain
unchanged.

DeltaV Connect™ Solution for Moore® Systems Installation Manual

2.3. Small System Interface

For interfaces sized at or less than 8000 APACS tags and fewer than 500 DeltaV modules,
the ProfessionalPlus can have the DeltaV Connect™ Solution for Moore® Systems modules
running on its Virtual Controller as well as hosting the engineering configuration. Section 4.3
details the procedure for installing this type of system interface, in which all interface software
is installed on the ProfessionalPlus.. The MBI/MNI card is not supported for installation in a
ProPlus, so communication must be established through an Ethernet card to an IEM node.
Consult the Siemens installation instructions for details on installing the APACS OPC Device
Server software on the ProfessionalPLUS Station.
Note: APACS OPC Device Server installs Microsoft MSDE, which is a scaled-down
version of Microsoft SQL Server. Version Control and Audit Trail (VCAT) requires SQL
Server. If the ProfessionalPLUS node will have VCAT enabled, then one should install
the APACSOPCDeviceServer software after DeltaV has already installed SQL Server.

3. Before You Install

3.1. Pre-requisite Software
These procedures assume that the DeltaV ProfessionalPlus and Application Station software
has been installed, is operational, the APACS software / hardware is installed on the
Application Station and that the required APACS interface licenses have been assigned.
The DeltaV Connect™ Solution for Moore® Systems software is compatible with DeltaV v7.3
and higher. The DeltaV Connect™ Solution for Moore® Systems install set checks
compatibility with the DeltaV version and will not install on a version prior to DeltaV v7.3.
The DeltaV Connect™ Solution for Moore® Systems media CD includes required DeltaV Hot
Fixes when installing on DeltaV v7.3 and v7.4. These hot fixes are in addition to hot fixes
contained on the DeltaV v7.3 and v7.4 media, and MUST be installed prior to using DeltaV
Connect™ Solution for Moore® Systems.
3.2. FHX File Import
The DeltaV Connect™ Solution for Moore® Systems ProfessionalPlus setup automatically
imports the APACS block definition FHX file (DCAPACS.fhx).
3.3. Conditions for Software Re-install
The DeltaV Connect™ Solution for Moore® Systems software is an add-on to DeltaV and
must be re-installed separately after any DeltaV install, re-install or generation of a new
database. DeltaV Connect™ Solution for Moore® Systems must be uninstalled and then
reinstalled during a DeltaV upgrade. (Refer to Section 8, Step 4.)
NOTE: If you use the DeltaV Database Administrator to create a new DeltaV database, you
will have to uninstall DeltaV Connect™ Solution for Moore® Systems on the
ProfessionalPLUS and then re-install it. This will automatically re-import the necessary FHX
file.

DeltaV Connect™ Solution for Moore® Systems is a “redundancy aware” interface. To utilize the
redundancy feature, DeltaV Connect™ Solution for Moore® Systems modules must be setup on
an Application Station with Redundant Assigned Modules enabled and the appropriate APACS
redundancy license assigned.
5.1. Maximum Number of Application Stations
The Application Station pair counts as one node in the DeltaV system. The DeltaV system
can host up to 10 Application Stations; therefore up to 10 pairs of Application Stations with
Redundant Assigned Modules subsystems are allowed on one DeltaV system.
5.2. Hardware Configuration
The Preferred Active and Preferred Standby Application Stations should have the same
hardware configuration (processor, system memory, hard drive, etc.) so that the standby
Application Station is capable of handling the DeltaV configuration should it become the
active Application Station.
NOTE: Attach both Application Stations to the DeltaV control network using Ethernet
switches (not hubs). The two partners utilize the DeltaV control network as their redundancy
link. A switch will isolate this node and contain redundancy related transmissions between
them, rather than transmitting them to other DeltaV nodes.
5.3. Enabling Redundancy
To establish Assigned Module subsystem redundancy in the Application Station pair, a
DeltaV System Administrator user follows these steps:
1. Locate the file “DvRAMEnab.exe” found in the folder C:\DeltaV\bin on the DeltaV
Professional Plus station. Running this application and enabling this option allows the
redundancy checkbox to appear on the Application Station Properties dialog.
2. Double-click the file to run the application. The redundancy checkbox appears (see
Figure 9).
3. Select the “Enable Redundant Assigned Modules” checkbox.
4. Close the application.

5.5. Data Transfer
The Standby Application Station may go to a “Partner is Available = No” state with a
Redundancy Status of “Failed Component” for a short period of time after the workstation is

DeltaV Connect™ Solution for Moore® Systems Installation Manual

downloaded. This status indicates that the Standby Application Station is transferring
downloaded data from the Active Application Station. When the transfer is complete, the
Standby Application Station becomes available for use.
5.6. Manual Restart Requirement
After a switchover, DeltaV service on the formerly Active Application Station (now the
Standby) will shutdown. One must manually shutdown and re-start this Application Station in
order for it to participate in redundancy again.
5.7. Application Redundancy Limitations
When Assigned Modules subsystem redundancy is enabled in an Application Station pair,
only the Assigned Modules subsystem is redundant. No other Application Station
subsystems or applications being run on that Application Station are redundant. When the
redundant DeltaV Connect™ Solution for Moore® Systems interface is installed on
Application Station pair, only this application is redundant. No other DeltaV applications are
redundant. In the event that the active Application Station fails over to the standby
Application Station, only the control modules running in the redundant Assigned Modules
subsystem and the redundant DeltaV Connect™ Solution for Moore® Systems interface will
be available on the standby Application Station. All simplex applications running on the failed
active Application Station will not fail over.

Due to the fact that all simplex applications running on the active Application Station will not
fail over, only the following items and applications are supported for use on the Application
Station pair hosting the redundant Assigned Modules subsystem.

• Flexlock
• Help
• DeltaV Logon
• DeltaV System Tray utility
• Redundant DeltaV Connect™ Solution for Moore® Systems

The following DeltaV applications are not supported for use on the Application Station pair
where the redundant Assigned Modules subsystem is enabled. These applications may run
on the Application Station pair, but they are not supported in a redundant architecture.
Emerson Process Management strongly recommends that the following applications not be
run on the Application Station pair hosting the redundant Assigned Modules subsystem.
Inconsistent and/or erroneous data may result after an Assigned Module subsystem fail over.

NOTE: To transition from a Simplex Interface to a Redundant Interface, one must run DeltaV
Workstation Configuration on both machines in the Application Station pair, so this upgrade
cannot be performed on-line.

9. APACS Software Setup

Please follow the Siemens APACS software instructions. The following instructions are not
comprehensive, but they clarify the order of setup steps when using the APACS OPC server
with DeltaV Connect™ Solution for Moore® Systems.
1. In APACS configuration, declare an APACS Node / Rack / Slot address for the DeltaV
Connect™ Solution for Moore® Systems interface computer.
Note: When installing redundant interface nodes, two unique APACS addresses must be
specified for the Preferred Active & Preferred Standby Application Stations.
2. On the DeltaV node that is hosting DeltaV Connect™ Solution for Moore® Systems
modules on its Virtual Controller, STOP THE DELTAV SERVICE before installing APACS
software. Stop the service from Control Panel/Services. This should be done after every
reboot, before proceeding with further installation of APACS software.
3. Install the APACS Option Pack C from CDROM.
4. If using an MBI/MNI card, Install that card after installing Option Pack C.
NOTE: Windows will detect the new hardware on the next reboot, and automatically find
the appropriate driver file for the MBI/MNI card hardware.
5. If using an IEM node, then the following steps are required:
a. Configure the MBI/MNI & Ethernet settings on the IEM node using the "USB drive
trick".
i. Plug in a USB drive and wait for about 30 seconds as the IEM writes to
it.
ii. Power down the IEM node and remove the USB drive.
iii. Insert the USB drive in another computer. Rename oldgateway.ini to be
gateway.ini.
iv. Use a text editor (e.g. Notepad) to open gateway.ini and define the Node
Name, IP Address & Subnet, and APACS Node / Rack / Slot.
v. With the IEM still powered down, insert the USB drive (with the modified
gateway.ini file). Power up the IEM node, which will detect the USB
drive and assume the configuration as defined within the gateway.ini file.
vi. Allow the IEM to shutdown and restart, which will allow these new
settings to take effect.
b. On the DeltaV node that is hosting DeltaV Connect™ Solution for Moore® Systems
modules on its Virtual Controller,
i. Create a text file called "hosts" (with no file extension) in the
c:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc directory, and add an entry for the IEM node
(e.g. 192.168.1.1 APACSIEM1) so that the APACS OPC Device Server can
locate the IEM node.
ii. Configure the APACS+ Control Panel to include the IEM's Node Name in its list
of Node Interface Modules (NIMs).
6. To verify that the APACS OPC Device Service is functioning, on the DeltaV node where
the DeltaV Connect™ Solution for Moore® Systems modules will be assigned,
