Hello everyone! I'm sitting next to the campfire, drinking a cup of tea and watching the sun set after a long day. The
two most important items I need for my work are next to me: my hiking boots and my camera. I'm a freelance
wildlife photographer. It's not your usual office job but I love spending the day outdoors! Our campsite is in the
beautiful Canadian mountains. We are staying here for one week to take wildlife photos.
Every morning, we wake up very early, often at sunrise. That way, we can take the best photos of the animals in
their natural habitats. Before we leave the campsite we have a quick breakfast. We also make sure we have all the
equipment we need. It can be very heavy so we have to be fit. We spend most of the morning trekking. It's very
tiring but we get to see some amazing scenery.
In the afternoons, we look for animals to photograph. Sometimes we see lots of them and it's very rewarding. One
disadvantage of the job is when we don't see any and it can be quite dull. We have to be very patient. It's worth all
the hard work though when you take a great photograph!
In the evenings at the campsite, we look at our photos and upload the best ones onto the Internet so our customers
can see them online. After that, we have dinner and tell stories. My team of photographers are great to work with, it
makes the experience even better. I really enjoy the peace and quiet in the mountains, I love my job!
