Introduction

Background of the Study

According to Alicia L. Castillo that the urban areas in the Philippines have accelerated

recently due to fast population growth. About 35,580 tons of garbage is generated every day in

the Philippines. On the average, each person in the country produces about 0.5 kg and 0.3 kg of

garbage every day in the urban and rural areas, respectively. For Metro Manila, it is estimated

that 8,636 tons of garbage is generated per day, i.e., 0.7 kg per person per day due to its more

modernized lifestyle. The household is the major source of waste in the Philippines at 74%.

In our community there are a lot of problems waiting for us to solve but garbage are

more, it eventually become unmanageable for the people. One of the most common problem is

the improper waste disposal, which could affect the people specifically to those people who are

suffering the garbage problem.

Bioplastic provide energy savings in production. They do not involve in the consumption

of the non-renewable raw materials. Their production reduces non-biodegradable waste that

contaminates the environment.

Statement of the Problem

In this study, the researchers thought of a good substitute to the garbage

specifically plastics for a good solution to limit the damage in nature, to help minimize the

waste that thrown anywhere and to determine the result of using botanical renewable

bioplastic. With this, the researchers pursue to answer the following questions:

1. Is it feasible that ___________ can be a raw material in making a botanical renewable

bioplastic?

2. Is there a significant difference in using different measurements of to test its physical

properties such as flexibility and durability?

Objectives

This study predominantly targets to regard economic and environmental issues with the

use of botanical renewable bioplastic in the substitution of plastic waste and to increase

the surpass of bioplastic as a raw material. Specifically:

 To determine the feasibility of _________ to produce a botanical renewable

bioplastic.

 To determine the physical properties of _____________ to produce a botanical

renewable bioplastic such as its flexibility and durability.

 To determine which treatment is more effective in making of botanical renewable

bioplastic.
Hypotheses

Null Hypothesis (Ho):

There is no significant difference of Botanical Renewable Bioplastic among the three

treatments.

Alternative Hypothesis (Ha):

There is a significant difference of Botanical Renewable Bioplastic among the three

treatments.
Conceptual Framework

This part focused on the variables. This investigation was determined whether

the strategies used in the experiment where reliable. The researchers found out that the

_____________ as independent variable whereas Botanical Renewable Bioplastic as the

dependent variable.

Significance of the Study

This study also targets to help the sectors of the society with the use of ___________ in

the production of botanical renewable bioplastic, to lessen the waste and to introduce

___________ as botanical renewable bioplastic product. This could help common people to have

a source of livelihood. They could make and sell this type of biolastic for additional income.

However, this could contribute to waste industries for them to substitute the plastics. If they will

use this gradually, it will decrease the volume of the waste scattered everywhere and but utilized

___________ instead. It is also significant to the environment and will be highly benefited

because it reduces non-biodegradable waste that contaminates the environment. This study could

help the environment by providing energy savings in production.

Locale, Scope and Delimitation

This study mainly focuses on the benefits and the physical properties of the

product such as its flexibility and durability out of __________ as botanical renewable

bioplastic.

The research study was conducted in Trayvilla’s residence located in

Concepcion, Kabasalan, Zamboanga Sibugay and also where are all the materials

gathered. The product will be manufactured or produced at Francisco Ramos National

High School on the second week of November, 2019 located at Concepcion, Kabasalan,

Zamboanga Sibugay.
