Nowadays, we use technology in many different ways that provide us not only the

entertainment we appreciate, but also the fundamental necessity to communicate.

Nevertheless, couldn’t the way we implement various technologies do more damage than
good?

Firstly, modern technologies are older methods upgraded in conformity with the
population’s interests, like the telephone, commonly known as smartphone and they have a lot
of advantages that simplify our existences. The disposal of improved communication is a
blessing, for both businesses that are now developing and the relations with other people that
may be far from one another. Thus, we can use social networks to maintain contact with
family overseas via video-calls, in case a regular call does not fulfill the need to feel the
other’s presence. Moreover, the entertainment industry is also a domain that has been
developed in favor of younger generations. As a result, it offers video games, advanced music
systems, smart televisions that allow live connection to the internet so as to be shared
simultaneousely with friends. The health area has also become more efficient, guaranteeing
less mistakes on behalf of the doctors thanks to modern facilities in surgical rooms, such as
applications that can monitor the vitals.

Yet, new does not always imply better, reason why we have to confront a number of
disadvantages. One can involve the increasing tendency to replace human jobs with robots
with the aim of increasing efficiency and production, leading to unemployment. Furthermore,
social isolation is a risk we must take, especially because people are spending more time
playing video games and using the internet, so they neglect their real life, where they do not
actually have many friends to socialize with.

Lastly, we should find the amount of technology that could improve our lives and
protect the society and the environment at the same time, without harming any of them.
