D6 Combat

If the total value of the defender’s die is greater

Rolls made to both attack and defend are made
by the player involved in the combat with a
single roll. Combat starts with a monster targets
another monster for an attack. The player then
rolls their special 2d6 dice. The white die
represent the player and the black die
represents the other monster. The resulting rolls
determine the success and damage that results
from the combat encounter. There are two
aspects to making an attack roll: Attack Value
and Damage Calculation.
Attack Value
When both dice are rolled, both creatures add
the appropriate modifiers to the respective rolls.

• Defender adds Weapon Defense (WD)

If both values on the dice are the same, even if
the added modifiers result in one value being
greater than the other, the combatants clash and
exchange blows, resulting in a re-roll.
If the total value of the attacker’s die is greater
than the defender, the attack goes succeeds and
that player proceeds to damage calculation.

Damage Calculation
If an attack is successfully made against a
creature, the amount of damage that is dealt
depends upon the success and fail rolled on each
dice.
• A fail roll is defined as rolling a 1, 2, or 3
on your d6.
• A success roll is defined as rolling a 4, 5,
or 6 on your d6.
A success roll versus a fail value results in full
damage. A success roll versus a success roll
results in half damage. A fail roll versus a fail roll
results in quarter damage.
If an attacker rolls a natural 6 AND the attack
succeeds versus a defending fail roll, double the
attack damage. If a defender rolls a natural 6
AND succeeds in blocking the attack versus an
attacking fail roll, the creature can choose to
retaliate and make a single attack against the
creature for full damage.
