Indonesian vs Japan System Farming

Farming sector is one of important thing in our life. Since a long time ago, farming has
become the main way for people to get their food material. It can produce many kind of food
for our consumption. Such as rice, corn, fruit, and many more. So that, all people in this world
depending on farming sector. Nowadays, Japan is known have best farming system. Then,
how about Indonesia which is famous as an agricultural country?

As we known, technology is dominate all of our work, no exception in farming sector.

In Japan almost all job is do by machine and technology. People only need to control the
machine. But, Indonesian farming system still use traditional tools. Their energy source come
from the farmer and some animal like buffalo. Indonesian farmer didn’t surrender their job to
the machine and the machine is too expensive for them. For example in a rice field. Indonesia
use farmer’s power to plant the rice while Japan plant it with a machine called Rice
Transplanter. It can automatically plant the rice seeds without step on muddy rice field.
Second example is in the maintance process, Indonesian farmer use manual thing to spray
pesticides, while Japan use modified tractor to spray it. So that Indonesian farming system is
more tiring than Japan.

Altough Japan has many kind of technology to develop their farming system, but
Indonesia can produce farming product with bigger quantity than Japan. Because Indonesia
have 77.500 km2 field in good condition and Japan only 1.140 km2 with bad soil condition. It
means that Japan’s field only 1,5% than Indonesian Field. Because of limitedness field in
Japan, they create new innovation by making indoor rice field. It made from glass wall to
keep the sun light get in to the room. Almost all family in Japan have their own field on their
rooftop. They can farming in their own house. So, Japan can broaden their field.

In conclusion, Indonesia and Japan shows their own superiority. Indonesian with its
quantity and Japan with its new inovation. We can’t really compare farming system between
Indonesia and Japan.
