Cut squares out of a variety of colors of construction paper. You could also cut some out of Christmas wrapping
paper, and then have students glue the wrapping paper to the construction paper square. With the wrapping paper
side face down, students fold the corners over, so that they will “pop open” to reveal their writing prompt inside the
“gift”.!
I’ve included this diagram to give you a pattern for the large square, as well as a guide of where the students should
fold their paper to make the “gift” portion that it will open up. !
For a terrific 3D bulletin board, buy a package of bows at The Dollar Store, and put one on the top of each “gift”. !
