How would you identify

desirable workers who can be developed and retained to fill key positions that might

become vacant within the organisation? You do not have to limit your ideas to those

provided in the text. Why do you think your method of identifying desirable workers

would be best?

Succession planning method of identifying workers would be best to retained to fill

key positions that might become vacant within organisation.

Employees can be smart, likeable and talented but, if you can't trust them to do what

they say they will do, then they become high maintenance employees, requiring high

levels of supervisor and error checking their work.

Good employees can find their own paths to success and do not require being

micromanaged.

The key is finding qualified, motivated people who are prepared to take over when

current staff and other keys employees leave the organisation. This can be achieved

by creating a succession planning pools. This will allow a selection panel to use

impartial criteria to evaluate employees level and to identify the individual who

should be considered for further development and future promotion.

A commitment to career development for employees is essential. By training and

developing internal employees reduces the risk of being unable to find the necessary

talent through external methods.

This also Creates an external reputation as an employer who invests in its people

and provides opportunities and support for advancement.
