FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT Activity 17 Question 2.

Your organisation does not currently conduct exit interviews when employees leave
an organisation. They do not feel that there is anything to be learnt from employees
who are clearly disgruntled. They suggest that the employee will not have anything
objective to say and that they will only be interested in criticising the organisation.
What would you tell them about the need to conduct exit interviews to identify
patterns in turnover?
Exit interviews should be conducted as they can show you what things are wrong

with the organisation and help identify where some changes may need to be made.

As for turnover levels if anything can be changed to stop the frequency in which it

happens then it can save the organisation time and money if they choose to listen to

what their employees say.

1. understand the reasons employees are leaving

2. provide information to introduce retention strategies to reduce turnover levels
