Rural Tourism

DEFINITION
Rural tourism might be characterized as the movement of individuals from their typical

area.

CONCEPT

With this concept, rural tourism does not only involve farm tourism or agritourism, but

outdoor recreation, production and sale of manufactured products and agricultural products, etc.

Rural tourism does not only involve farm tourism or agritourism with this concept. There

residential tourism in which services include not only accommodation for convinience but also
outdoor recreation, social gatherings/events, festivities, production and sale of made items and
agricultural products, etc.
Thus, the term of rural tourism has different implications, frequently relting upon the

ORIGIN

The origin of Rural Tourism can be said to be “old and youthful” type of tourism. It is old
on the grounds that rural tourism has existed since ancient times. It is youthful on the grounds that
the ancient rural tourism generally refers to visiting the relatives and friends in countryside. The
rural tourism in its actual sense is another kind of tourism activity showed up in the late 19 th
century, and enthusiastically created after “World War II.” In present academy circle, based on a
popular theory, it is said that rural tourism originated in France. Yet, another argument counters
that it instead originated in United Kingdom during the late 19th century due to the industrial
revolution, which has made the people’s lives for being able to give them more time to rest.

time and appropriate media for rural tourism.

extent of voyaging and visiting, thus the popular modern rural tourism in its actual sense
developed. After 1970s, the rural tourism in the United States, Canada and different nations entered
