To whom it may concern:

This correspondence is in regards to Gabriela Chavez a University of Arizona Bachelor of Science

nursing student graduating December 2019. I am honored to write this letter of recommendation for
Gabriela, a competitive bilingual applicant for a new graduate registered nurse position. I had the
pleasure to work with Ms. Chavez during the fall 2018 semester as she was a clinical and didactic student
in NURS 366 “Acute and Chronic Illness Management”. I have been impressed with Gabriela’s clinical
abilities as well as her passion to be challenged and eagerness to learn.

Ms. Chavez demonstrated professionalism, competency, accountability, and leadership not only in the
pediatric clinical rotation at Tucson Medical Center (TMC) but also as a summer intern. At TMC
Gabriela developed an immediate relationship with the children, parents, and interdisciplinary healthcare
providers while providing care to children on the pediatric unit, the pediatric emergency room, and the
pediatric intensive care unit. Gabriela was highly motivated to learn as much as possible from all
disciplines. Gabriela was assertive and not afraid to ask questions. In addition, Gabriela was one of the
few candidates selected for the UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center Nurse Assistant Summer
Internship 2018 in which she provided care for patients in the ICU, Neuro/Trauma unit, NICU and
Pediatric unit. Prior to completing the rigorous internship program at UCLA Gabriela completed 100 plus
hours as an intern at Phoenix Children’s Hospital Summer 2015.

Ms. Chavez demonstrated a distinguished level of service to others as she was a volunteer for Diamond
Children’s Hospital in Tucson Arizona comforting children for three years. During this time Gabriela
strengthened her interpersonal communication skills. Gabriela has proven that she can multi-task as she
been an active participant in the Student Nurses of the University of Arizona (SNUA) for all four
semesters. Gabriela continues to succeed academically in the highly competitive rigorous nursing
program at the University of Arizona as she has maintained a 3.7 GPA. Ms. Chavez was just recently
inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau Beta Mu National Honor Society for Nursing.

The University of Arizona, College of Nursing has prepared Gabriela with a strong work ethic to succeed
in a fast-paced environment and learn at the next level. Gabriela indicates a strong passion to serve others
and is ready for the challenge. Without hesitation, I highly recommend Gabriela Chavez for the new
graduate registered nurse position. Please feel free to contact me for additional information if needed.

Sincerely Yours,

Beverly Bias, MS, RNC-NIC, NTMNC
