To Whom It May Concern:

I had the privilege of educating Gabriela Chavez in her second semester medical and surgical clinical
rotation. I knew immediately upon meeting her that she is going to make a great nurse someday. She has
an aptitude for learning and retaining pathophysiology, Gabriela excelled at utilization of evidence-based
nursing processes, and she has a great bedside manner that patients found approachable. Gabriela is a hard
worker and is a great fit to be a part of a dynamic nursing unit, including medical surgical, labor and
delivery, and intensive care units. She has passion and interest in all of these areas.

Gabriela exemplifies the attributes that a novice RN should have. She is hard working and motivated to
learn. She participated in two summer Student Extern Programs, one at UCLA and one at Phoenix Children’s
Hospital, where she worked in ICU, NICU, neuro/trauma, and pediatric environments. Gabriela also has a
philanthropic heart and has volunteered at St. Andrews Clinics in Nogales, AZ helping Mexican children with
disabilities. She assisted with both physical and occupational therapy and she served as a translator. She
also volunteered for many years at an event held by Rebuilding Together in Nogales helping rebuild homes.
She is a well-rounded individual that has a sincere dedication to the nursing profession.

When Gabriela is not studying, she enjoys traveling, hiking, cooking, and is a coffee enthusiast. She has life
balance that allowed her to always came to clinical prepared to work hard, contribute to group discussions,
and engage with her patients. I know she will continue this exemplary work ethic.

Gabriela will become the kind of nurse that will integrate into a multidisciplinary team and really
collaborate with her peers to provide top quality, patient centered care. She will make a great addition to
any nursing unit and I would expect, that with some mentoring, she will take on roles within the unit that
go above and beyond patient care.

I ask that you consider Gabriela Chavez as a new nurse to your patient care unit. She is exactly the type of
novice RN that embodies all of the core principles that make becoming a health care professional so special.

Very Respectfully,

Kajsa Michelle Pyers, BSN, CCRN
