To Dr. Gloria Gdovin:

This correspondence is in regards to Vanessa Ho a University of Arizona Bachelor of Science

nursing student graduating December 2021. I am honored to write this letter of recommendation for
Vanessa, an excellent candidate for the Valor summer internship program as she has demonstrated a
strong work ethic maintaining a 3.93 GPA as well as demonstrated impressive clinical skills. I had
the pleasure to work with Vanessa during the fall 2020 semester as she was a clinical and didactic
student in NURS 366 “Acute and Chronic Illness Management”.

Ms. Ho demonstrated professionalism, competency, accountability, and leadership during the

pediatric clinical rotation at Tucson Medical Center. Vanessa was highly motivated to learn as much
as possible from all disciplines while providing care to post-operative children recovering from
spinal fusion and appendectomy surgeries. Vanessa was assertive and not afraid to ask questions.
Vanessa developed an immediate relationship with the children, parents, and interdisciplinary
healthcare providers while providing care to infants and children on the pediatric units. In addition,
Ms. Ho participated in a “flu clinic” on campus in which she demonstrated competency with
injections to multiple students.

Ms. Ho demonstrated a distinguished level of service to veterans as she was a volunteer for the
Southern VA hospital in Tucson, Arizona. Vanessa trained volunteers on how to operate equipment
as well as planned events. Vanessa’s roles during three-years included: Mentor, Escort, and
Prosthetic assistant. Ms. Ho indicates a strong passion to make a difference in the health and
wellbeing of others. Vanessa continues to offer services to others through the College of Nursing as
she facilitates mentees transition to the College of Nursing. Vanessa has proven that she can multi-
task as she has been an active participant for SNUA (Student Nurses at the University of Arizona)
while going to nursing school. Vanessa continues to succeed academically in the highly competitive
rigorous nursing program at the University of Arizona as she received highest academic distinction
(GPA 4.0) fall 2020.

The University of Arizona, College of Nursing has prepared Vanessa with a strong work ethic to
succeed in a fast-paced environment and learn at the next level. Vanessa indicates a strong passion
to serve others and is ready for the challenge. Without hesitation, I highly recommend Vanessa Ho
for the Valor summer internship program. Please feel free to contact me for additional information if
needed.

Sincerely Yours,

Beverly Bias, MS, RNC-NIC, NTMNC
