Dear Hiring Manager,

It is with pleasure that I write to you today to strongly recommend Vanessa Ho for a position
within your organization.

I have had the privilege of instructing Vanessa during her fourth and final semester here at the
University of Arizona. During this final semester, Vanessa completed her 180-hour
preceptorship at Northwest Medical Center on the Acute Telemetry Unit under the tutelage of
an experienced nurses. During that time, Vanessa grew in her role as a nurse, focusing on
strengthening her communication and delegation skills, as well as mastering prioritization of
patient care based on her assessment and the patient’s known/perceived needs.

During her time at the University of Arizona, Vanessa was an active member of the Student
Nurses at the University of Arizona (SNUA) club for 3 consecutive semesters. Vanessa is also a
member of the Professional Achievements in Nursing club, which provides guidance and
community for all UA students who are interested in the College of Nursing but have not yet
been accepted. This organization allows Vanessa to provide insight and support to these
students during their application process.

One thing that I admire about Vanessa is her ability to empathize with patients. Vanessa
recognizes the need for empathy as a nurse, but also recognizes the all-important nurse/patient
boundaries that exist and must be respected to allow her to provide the highest quality of care
during her patient’s time of need. Her holistic approach to the patient sets her apart from other
nurses.

Thank you for taking the time to consider Vanessa for a position within your organization.
Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out for additional information.
Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

Sarah Hoogasian
